On the day before going on a suicide mission, Saburo Miyagawa, a member of a suicide squadron, said to Tome Torihama, the owner of a diner, as he watched fireflies flying by: "I'll come back as a firefly when I die.
The next night, a giant firefly came into the diner.
Tome's daughter shouted.
Mother, Mr. Miyagawa has returned!
Tome and his comrades-in-arms all sobbed.
