The reality of solar power generation costs 1 trillion yen every year to reduce C0₂ by 1%

The following is an article by Taishi Sugiyama, Research Director of the Cannon Global Strategic Studies Institute, which appeared in today's Sankei Shimbun "Sound Argument."
It is a must-read for Greta Thunberg, Naomi Trauden, and the rest of those who make their living from the stupid media that uses them so heavily.
Resist Global Warming Out of Control
At the U.S.-sponsored climate change summit, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said, "We aim to reduce greenhouse gases such as C0₂ by 46% in 2030 compared to 2013 levels, and we will continue to challenge for a higher target of 50%. It is more than 20 percentage points above the current target of 26%.
Catastrophic U.S. Climate Diplomacy
Japan's target of 46% to 50% is only in line with the U.S. target of 50% to 52%.
When Japan agreed to the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, the rate was 6%, only one percentage point less than the U.S. rate of 7%.
When it agreed to the Paris Agreement in 2015, it was 26%, the same as the U.S.
In each case, the U.S. agreed at one point but then abandoned it.
In both cases, the United States once agreed but eventually broke down. Japan, which was in step with the pace, was taken off the ladder.
The same thing will indeed happen this time.
The Republican Party, which accounts for almost half of Congress, knows that the "climate crisis" theory is fake.
Not only that, but the U.S. is the world's largest oil and gas producer, and even Democrats are willing to vote against global warming measures for the sake of their local industries, along with Republicans.
Regulations such as environmental taxes and emissions trading will never make it through Congress.
The U.S. will never be able to reduce C0₂ significantly.
Why did the U.S. insist on a goal that it cannot achieve?
It is based on the "climate crisis theory," which states that the Earth's climate is in crisis, and it must limit the temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius, halved by 2030, and zero by 2050.
It is advocated by unprincipled scholars and believed in Western Europe's leadership and the U.S. Democratic Party.
However, statistics on typhoons and hurricanes show that there has been no increase in the severity of disasters, and this climate crisis theory is nothing but fake.
Despite this, CNN and other media outlets have ignored the inconvenient facts and blocked any counter-arguments.
The main goal of the Biden administration at the summit was to satisfy those who believe in the climate crisis theory, especially those on the left, such as Sanders, who has a growing presence in the Democratic Party.
China, India, Russia, and other countries did not respond to the deepening of the goals. As a result, Japan, the United States, and Europe unilaterally bore an enormous economic burden.
China smiles broadly in the background.
China's President Xi Jinping gave a confident speech at the summit.
China welcomes the return of the U.S. to the Paris Agreement," he said, pointing out the unreliability of the U.S., whose policies change with each change of administration.
He also made it clear that the official venue for negotiations is the United Nations and not the US-led summit.
The U.N. is a convenient venue for China.
Along with many developing countries known as the G77, China is a leader defending the right to economic development and holding developed countries accountable.
China used its participation in the summit as leverage to strike a favorable deal.
In a joint statement issued before the summit, the U.S. and China said they would pursue "policies, measures, and technologies to decarbonize industry and power.
It will use this language to curb U.S. sanctions that would harm China's interests in a future trade war.
Under China's current plan, emissions will increase by 10% over the next five years. This increase alone is almost equal to Japan's annual emissions of 1.2 billion tons.
In addition, Japan has about 50 million kilowatts of coal-fired power generation, and China is building a comparable amount every year.
At this summit, the industrialized nations made promises that will self-destructively hurt their economies, while China remains completely unbound by CO₂.
And that's not all.
China has a significant industry in solar power and electric cars and can dominate the markets created by developed countries.
As for developing countries, China has announced that it will further promote the One Belt, One Road Initiative in the name of green infrastructure development.
While developed countries will reduce their oil consumption and the oil industry will be hit hard, China will be able to procure oil from oil-producing countries more easily.
While developed countries are withdrawing from thermal power generation projects in developing countries due to C0₂, China will be able to monopolize this market.
The developing countries that have been deprived of fossil fuels by the developed countries will all turn to China.
China is laughing all the way to the bank.
What should Japan do?
The process of reviewing its energy policy will begin.
What is important is the specific policy. Japan should carefully consider its security and economy and examine the appropriateness of each procedure.
Institutionalize cost containment.
The reality of solar power generation costs 1 trillion yen every year to reduce C0₂ by 1%.
If we dig deeper, from 26% to 46%, it will cost an additional 20 trillion yen every year, even if we calculate it.
First, the government should clarify how much the total cost is.
Next, we need a system to prevent the costs from rising.
It is why I propose "policy carbon pricing."
It should set a specific "carbon price" of, say, 4,000 yen per metric ton of I-t, and it should analyze all policies for cost-effectiveness using this carbon price. Whether to implement a policy should be made while taking security and other factors into consideration. It will prevent wasteful spending.
The world will soon recognize that zero C0₂ is impossible and that the climate crisis is fake, especially in the U.S. Republican Party.
Until then, we have no choice but to protect our national interests persistently.
