北海道では、減反政策のもと生産目標が平成２５年から毎年、前年を下回ってきましたが、増産すれば６年ぶりとなります。

理由について、ＪＡなどの生産者団体は、品質への評価が高まり需要が増えているためだとしていて、およそ５０００トンの増産を軸に自治体と調整したうえで、近くまとめることにしています。

主食用のコメの生産量が全国最大の北海道が増産を目指すことで、ほかの産地の対応や、値上がりが続く業務用のコメの価格などにどう影響するか注目されます。
減反廃止とコメ価格
減反政策はコメ余りを防ぐため４０年以上にわたって続けられてきました。

国が家畜のエサになるコメの生産を促していることなどで家庭用のコメの生産量が減り、先月のコメの価格はすべての銘柄の平均で６０キロ当たり１万５５３４円と、去年の同じ月に比べて８％上昇しました。
