おはようございます。東京都港区田町の英語学校のEnglish Plus英語講師のarataです。

English Plusでは、小学生から大人まで『使える基礎英語力』をしっかり・楽しく・着実に身につける「実用的な英語レッスン」を提供しています。

しっかり・楽しく・着実に基礎英語力を身につけるためにEnglish Plusでは「４名までの完全少人数制」「９０分レッスン（キッズ６０分レッスン）」「レッスン内での英語の間違い・質問大歓迎！」「初心者でも安心して受講できる」環境を整えており、また「自己学習サポート」を提供しています。


本日のブログは“英語のみのレッスンだけど大丈夫かな？今から準備！English Plus ２０２５年６月のEnglish Only Weekのお知らせ（日本語編）”です。

English Plusでは毎月「English Only Week」という１週間を設定しています。

このEnglish Only Weekの１週間、English Plusのレッスン内では「(基本)英語のみ」となり、日本語の使用が禁止となります。

この１週間“レッスン中は英語のみ”となり、日本語を話した場合、ペナルティーがあります。

ちょうど来週の火曜日～土曜日（６月２４日～６月２８日）の間が次回のEnglish Only Weekに当たりますが、このイベントを来週に控えた今日は、English Only Weekに使える英語表現を学習したいと思います。

・日本語で質問してもいいですか？ ＝ Can I ask you a question in Japanese?
・もう一度言っていただけますか？ ＝ Could you say that again?

レッスン受講生は英語のみになりますが、楽しくがんばりましょう。

今日のひとことは「失敗は成功のもと」となるポジティブなひとことだと思います。

日本語訳は「失敗とは次の機会にもっと賢くやり直すチャンスにすぎない」と言った感じでしょうか。

Good morning and thank you very much for your time to stop by English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small language school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to write about one of my children's story and how to raise children in English on this English Plus blog.
In fact, I have never written about my children on this blog before, so I don't think many people outside of English Plus students know that I have children.
Since this blog is basically English Plus' business blog so I have never mentioned them.
However, as time passes by, my children have grown up and their English skills have been improving.
So, I thought it is worth writing about them in this blog.
This is the first time I'm writing about my children's English acquisition, partly as a reminder so I don't forget about them.
Before my children were born, I had had a vague idea that when I had children, I would try to communicate with them in English as much as possible.
This is because I was wondering, “If Japanese parents communicate with their children in English while they are in Japan, how much English ability will their children acquire?” Also, “Will the following child-rearing methods actually help my child acquire English language skills? Plus, “What is the right answer to raise kids in English?"
I had my own questions, so I decided to actually work on them.
In our home, I, as a father, communicate only in English, and the mother communicates basically in Japanese, sometimes in English.
We do not force the children to speak in English, as our idea is that "English is only a communication tool", but only when they want to communicate in English.
One easy expression in our home that our children English often hear is for example, “Have a seat.” and “Where is mommy?"
Another English child-rearing method in our home is to watch videos and images (movies, YouTube, etc.) only in English (audio).
We also read books in both Japanese and English that we think they would be interested in, and sometimes read out loud to them.
In addition, when one of them started elementary school, he began taking weekly group lessons (focusing on phonics and vocabulary) at English Plus for elementary school students.
I have created an English learning environment for my children in the above general manner.
It has become a little long, so I will continue again next time.

I appreciate your stopping by English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Yesterday, Dec 21st, was the last business day for English Plus in 2024.
Since we started English Plus in October 2011, thanks to a lot of people's support, we were able to celebrate English Plus' 13th anniversary this October 1st.
We really appreciate those who always support and help us, especially, our students, staff members, family, and relatives.
I really feel this year was almost over in the blink of an eye.
Again, we just want to say "Thank you very much" for all those who have connection with English Plus this year.
We hope everyone has "Happy holidays", and hope to see you next year.

Today, let's practice some English phrases for English only week at English Plus.
At English Plus, we hold "English Only Week" every once a month.
During this week, all of our students must speak only English during lessons.
The next term is from next Tuesday to Saturday, December 17th - December 21st.
If they speak Japanese, there is a small penalty waiting for them.
So, today I'd like to introduce some English phrases that might be useful during English Only Week.
For instance...

・日本語で質問してもいいですか？ ＝ Can I ask you a question in Japanese?
・もう一度言っていただけますか？ ＝ Could you say that again?

Let's try only English next week!

本日のブログは“自分の英語に自信がない…自分の間違いに自分で気づける基礎英語力をつける第一歩！English Plusレッスン受講生用2024年3月第3週英語レッスンの復習”です。

English Plusではレッスン中は特に、受講生に間違いを恐れることなく英語を話してもらうようにサポートしています。

レッスン内では学んだ語彙・文法を使って、できる限り「自分の言葉で英文を作り、英語でコミュニケーションができる基礎英語力の習得」を目指しています。

９０分間のレッスン内では、基本的に“英語のみ”なので、時に会話のトピック（自分のことや、日常生活、社会一般の事など）が難しい話題になったりもしますが、レッスン受講生は自分の持っている英語力を駆使してがんばっています。

English Plusでは、どのような場面やトピックでも自分の英語力で乗り切れるえるように、基礎の部分となる基礎英語力（自分で英文が自由に作れる英語力）をつけるためにレッスンや自己学習をサポートしていますが、その基礎英語力の大事な中の１つに“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力”があります。

今日はこの“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力”の復習と題し、２０２４年３月第３週のレッスン受講生の英語の間違いから英語の復習・トレーニングをしていきたいと思います。

早速、下記の文の間違いに気づいてみましょう。（答えは下記にありますので、よろしければご確認ください）

1. Nice to meet you again.
2. She picked up me.
3. I go to here every Thursday.
4. How old are you at that time?
5. The place was crowded by many young people.　

スムーズかつ自然に正しい英文が口からすぐに出てくる基礎英語力アップのために、学んだ後は音読トレーニング等の復習・トレーニングを重ねましょう。

Through the lessons at English Plus, I realized there are some mistakes our students often make, so today let's review not to make the same mistake again.
Now, let's find errors from our lessons during the fourth week of April in 2023 below.
