English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, let's practice English from English Plus' lessons.
At English Plus, we encourage our students to try to speak English a lot especially during lessons.
Once in a while, they make some mistakes, but they really try hard and try to express what they want to say in their own words. (Great Job!)
Through the lessons at English Plus, I realized there are some mistakes our students often make, so today let's review not to make the same mistake again.
Now, let's find errors from our lessons during the third week of April in 2023 below.

3. I hope speak English well in the future.

Today, I'd like to recommend a good English book for English learners from English Plus Cafe.
There are some good English books, magazines, and newspapers I'd like to recommend at English Plus Cafe.
Reading a whole book might take some time; however, I'd like to recommend reading a book little by little when you have time, such as lunch time.
This month, a book I'd like to recommend is this...
"The Great Waldo Search" by Martin Handford.
Its Japanese-translated version is "Wally wo sagase."
This is a very famous book, so you might have seen or read somewhere.
We can enjoy this book by searching Waldo and reading some stories!
One tip of reading English books is when you find some unknown words, just try to guess the meaning of the vocabulary from its context.
At English Plus, you can read English books little by little when you have time.
Reading English books regularly means improving your English skills regularly!
So, let's read English books and improve English skills!

Today, let's learn one of Japanese customs in English.
The other day, when I went to a supermarket, I found some unique vegetables.
Then I realized that it's January 7th today, and traditionally in Japan we eat "Nanakusagayu."
"Nanakusagayu" is rice porridge with the vegetables - seven spring herbs.
The seven spring herbs are such as...
・Water dropwort (Japanese: seri)
・Shepherd's Purse (Japanese: nazuna)
・Cudweed (Japanese: gogyō)
・Chickweed (Japanese: hakobera)
・Nipplewort (Japanese: hotokenoza)
・Turnip (Japanese: suzuna)
・Radish (Japanese: suzushiro)
If you have a chance to eat rice porridge with seven spring herbs today, please check each out in English!

本日は“日本の伝統的な習慣 - 七草を英語で言ってみよう”です。

先日、スーパーマーケットに買い物に行ったところ、いつもは見慣れない野菜が置いてありました。

それを見て気づいたのは今日１月７日は、日本では“七草粥”を食べる習慣があることでした。

ちなみに英語では七草粥を"rice porridge with seven spring herbs"と言います。
お粥は英語でrice porridgeです。

七草ひとつひとつを見ていきますと英語では・・・

・Water dropwort (芹 : せり)

・Shepherd's Purse (薺 : なずな)

・Cudweed (御形 : ごぎょう)

・Chickweed (繁縷 : はこべら)

・Nipplewort (仏の座 : ほとけのざ)

・Turnip (菘 : すずな)

・Radish (蘿蔔 : すずしろ)

以上のようになります。

今日七草粥を食べる機会があったら、少し英語を思い出してみましょう！

Good morning and thank you for your time to check out this English Plus' blog!!
Today, I'd like to introduce a menu from English Plus' cafe.
As I mentioned before that English Plus' cafe "English Environment Cafe" is a place where anyone can relax in English environment.
The space itself is not that big, but it's very cozy and people can relax.
This is a real cafe, so we provide some drinks and food.
Currently, we serve some coffee, tea, caffe au lait, cafe latte, orange juice, hand-made light meal and original home-made sweets.
As for coffee, we're using fresh coffee beans from a home-roasted coffee beans shop "Emilu" in Sagamihara.
At our cafe, soon after we receive customer's order, we grind the beans and brew the coffee. (The smell is great and the taste great!!)
Then, we serve the coffee in a mug, which is quite big!
So, when you want to relax in Tamachi, Tokyo, please visit English Plus' English environment cafe!!

本日は“英語環境カフェのメニューの紹介 - Coffee”です。

以前のブログでもお伝えしましたが、English Plusの英語環境カフェは生徒の方のみでなく、どなたでも気軽に利用できる場所になっています。

スペース的にはあまり大きくはないカフェですが、隠れ家的なカフェでゆったりくつろいでいただける場所になっています。

ちゃんと保健所の許可も下りているカフェで、いろいろなドリンク・フード・スイーツを提供しています。

現在は、コーヒー、紅茶(\500)、カフェオレ、カフェラテ、オレンジジュース、バナナ＆ミルクなどの飲み物に、自家製のスイーツや簡単なランチ（軽食）もやっています。

コーヒーに使用するコーヒー豆は相模原にある自家焙煎のお店“えみいる”さんからフレッシュなコーヒー豆を仕入れています。

英語環境カフェでは、お客様からオーダーをお受けした後、コーヒー豆をその場で挽き、淹れています。（挽いている時のコーヒー豆の香りはとても良く、味もGoodです！）

淹れたコーヒーは大きめのマグでお出ししております。

少しリラックスしたい時など、東京・田町の英語環境カフェでコーヒーを一杯いかがでしょうか？

Good morning.
Thank you for reading my blog today too!
The other day, I had a chance to visit some shops and retailers in Sagamihara-city to listen to their business experiences.
First, I visited a coffee bean shop "Emilu" which Mr. Koji Takeuchi, who is a lecturer at the seminar I attended in Kawasaki, recommended.
The coffee bean shop's manager, Mr. Yoshida, was a really nice person and he took the trouble to take some time and teach me how to make good coffee, how to choose good coffee beans, and other useful tips about business.
I felt it was really worth going there and talking with him; moreover, after I told him about my English school plan, he introduced his friend’s café, which has experienced having English conversation lessons in the café.
I was able to get some useful information there too thanks to Mr. Suzuki, who is an owner of the café "Yokoyamadai Coffee Kan".
Overall, they gave me a lot of positive energy!!
From now, I’ll do what I need to do simply to make my English successful!!

先日、相模原市の何件かのお店に行き、いろいろなお話を伺う機会がありました。

最初に、（川崎市で受講しておりました起業セミナーの講師である中小企業診断士の）竹内幸次先生が紹介してくださいました、“絵美衣留（えみいる）”さんと言うコーヒーの生豆を扱っているお店をお伺いしました。

店主の吉田さんはとても笑顔が素敵で、とても気さくな良い方でした。
吉田さんは、コーヒーのおいしい淹れ方、コーヒー豆の選び方、ビジネスについてのアドバイスなども教えてくれました。

また、吉田さんと話している時、私の英語学校のビジネスプランを話す機会があり、英会話カフェとしてビジネスをしていたこともある、吉田さんの友人を紹介してくださりました。

紹介いただきました“横山台珈琲館”では以前、英語のレッスンをカフェをしていた貴重なお話をマスターの鈴木さんから聞くことができました。

いろいろな方の経験と話をしっかりと参考にしながら、本日も“ユニークでオンリーワン＋No.1の英語学校”の設立を目指して前向きに前進です！！
