Phantom blue poppy

The Himalayan blue poppy is called "Blue Poppy" and is also referred to as "Heavenly Fairy" or "Phantom Flower" because of its beautiful flower color.  It is a rare plant native to the Himalayas and the outback of China, and its neighboring areas.　 It will be in full bloom in early summer．

Recently it can be seen in Japan.

I have seen it two times at the Hakone Shissei Kaen.

I like flowers with delicate and fluttering petals.

Other examples include Shiraneaoi(Japanese Wood Poppy)(Glaucidium) and Matsumushiso(pincushion flower)(Scabiosa).

IKEBANA (Flower arrangement)

My wife and I went to the Takashimaya Department Store in Shinjuku on October 4th to see an Ikebana exhibition of the Ohara school.

There were many beautiful flower arrangements there.

I was especially impressed with the large works.

BEAUTIFUL GARDEN

My friend Keiko is good at gardening.

She has a green thumb.

Please see the picture below, I call it “Keiko’s garden”.

One day I visited her house with a fennel plant.

There were beautiful roses in the garden.

After viewing the garden, I enjoyed drinking wine with her husband.

It seemed I made a good deal exchanging fennel for wine.

We say “Ebi de tai o tsuru” in Japanese, it means “Fish the sea bream with shrimp”.

井の頭公園

昨日今日と暖かい日が続き、私の好きな春がやって来たと言う感じ。

リハビリを兼ねて井の頭公園まで、桜がどうなっているか見に行きました。

池の周りの桜はまだ満開には早い時期でしたが、それでも木によって違うのでしょう満開の桜もありました。

生まれたての木の芽チョコンチョコンと見えてとても可愛い。これを若芽と呼ばず私は生まれたての芽、生芽（ショウガ）と呼びたい。

ハイビスカス

今日は腰の具合も少し良く成って来て、花にも目が行くような余裕も生まれて来ました。

このハイビスカスは、女房の誕生日7月21日に買ってきたものですが、いまだに咲き続けています。

まだ蕾が四っつも有り楽しめそうです。

南国の花なのに11月半ばでも良く咲いているものですね。

東京は温暖化が進んできたのでしょうか？

東京都薬用植物園

きょうは、東大和の甥の家に行ってその帰り東大和の駅前に有る、植物園へ行った。
そこは薬用植物の研究繁殖をしているところで、聞いた事もないような植物が沢山あり、その効用も書いてあります。

　ハルジオンとかヒメジョンは良く知っているのですが、大きくても１ｍチョットの長さのものしか知りませんでしたが、この紫菀は凄い長さでビックリです、子供の背と比べてみて下さい。
