My son-in-law and I went to Okutama for hiking on the 28th of January.

I started out from my house at 7:40am and I met Kosuke at Mitaka Station.

We arrived at Okutama Station at 9:46am.

We started walking after some warm up stretches.

This time we walked from Okutama Station along the Tama River to Hatonosu Station.

We passed the Kazuma Valley, Lake Shiromaru and the Hatonosu Valley.

There was a lot of snow and ice still on the ground, therefore we put four-tooth crampons on our shoe soles.

There were some people who were doing Stand Up Paddle surfing in this cold weather on Lake Shiromaru.

Thanks to the crampons we were able to walk comfortably on the snow.

As usual, we had lunch after hiking.

This time we had a late lunch near Hatonosu Station.

We enjoyed the mountain road of snow.

That’s it.

We walked the Ome hills hiking course on the 10th of December 2017.

We started out from Ome Station on the Ome Line and walked to Miyanohira Station on the same line.

First we visited the Anamori Inari Shrine, next we climbed up the slope and went to the Ome Railway Park.

There were some locomotives there.

Then we walked the hiking course.

It was fine day.

We reached Miyanohira Station three hours later.

The station is an unattended station.

There was nothing in front of the station and we therefore took the train to Ome Station.

There we had lunch at the Tamagawa-ya Japanese soba shop.

We had a good time.

The number of steps we walked today was 16,366 steps.
