I visited the grave of Kiichiro Higuchi at Myodaiji Temple in Oiso Town, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Higuchi's achievements in issuing "life visas" to many Jews in Manchuria two years before Chiune Sugihara and in preventing the "division of Hokkaido" by stopping the southward advance of Soviet forces in the Battle of Shumshu after the war are historical facts that should be known to more people.
