2020 was the year of the clash between the U.S. Trump administration and the Chinese Communist Party.
On August 7, the U.S. Trump administration imposed sanctions on Hong Kong's top government official, Carrie Lam, and senior Chinese Communist Party officials for suppressing political freedom in Hong Kong.
