本日、久留米の小学校にお招き頂きました。5年生2クラス75名とのワークショップを体験させていただきました。今回の目的は、先生とお話をしており「ボランティアの心」を話す、感じるというもの。人権週間と12月1日のAIDSデイというところから、授業を受けてアフリカの話を出来ればと、スライドを準備していきました。アフリカの基本的な話、日本との関係、距離、活動の話、ボランティアとは(約30分)、、、というところで、バーンガを入れて、体験学習も兼ねました(30分)。まとめの話(5分)、質問タイム(10分)。異文化体験カードゲーム『バーンガ』では、8割方の生徒が、楽しんでくれた模様でした。そして、モヤモヤを出さんとするかの如く、発表もどしどししてくれて、クラスの雰囲気も良かったということもあり、「訳がわからなかった」「最初はイライラした、、けど、身振りで伝えた」「ルールが違うということに、最後でわかった」ゲームを通して、異文化を身をもって感じてくれていました。先生たちも、生徒に負けず楽しんで??!下さったようで、ありがたかったです。
質問タイムでは「自分たちに出来ることはありませんか?」や、「一番印象に残っていることは?」「一番最初に、戸惑ったことは?」「バーンガってどういう意味ですか?」など。持ってきた雑貨・布・写真を飾っておきますので、見に来てください、昼休みにでもというと、「まぁ、一人休みがいるので、給食を食べていかんね」とお誘い頂きました。その後、40枚の雑巾を長~く繋げたのを一斉に40人で雑巾がけ競争集会というのがあって、それに参加してきたり。。かなり、笑っちゃいます!5時間目の最初を使って、一クラスずつ見に来てくれて、そこで個人的に質問を受けたり。かなり充実、満喫してきてしまいました。。
久しぶりだったので、緊張はしましたが自分が何を伝えたいのか、そして先生を介して授業でどんな流れの話をされてあったのかを、十分に聞いておいたので、それもまた刺激的で、創造的だったように思います。
