カンボジア旅行から帰ってきました。　Cambodiaには往復ともHo Chi Minh City, Vietnum経由で行きましたがその時に飛行機で読んだThe Saigon Times, Nov.24 の二つの記事に "spell" の単語が使われていて、一つの方の "spell" の意味は知らないものでした。　まず知っている方の "spell" を含む文です。

"spell" の意味としてはこの他にもちろん　recite the letters of or give the spelling of ("How do you spell this word?")や a psychological state induced by (or as if induced by) a magical incantation の意味は知っていますが、次ぎの記事の意味は分かりませんでした。

Dictionary.comにある次ぎの説明がこの文の "spell" の意味と同じです。 "spell": a turn, bout, fit, or period of anything experienced or occurring: a spell of coughing.
turn、boutにも "spell"　と同様に fit と同じ意味があるのも知りませんでした。
