Hi ftriends

We have to inform you about the delay concerning the beginning of the operation TS7C

Unfortunately it seems that some rules have been changed in Tunisia about the agreement of transmitters between the first information given when the licence was asked, and the instructions in hand of the Tunisian Customs.
So when the crew arrived in Sfax Airport, the transceivers had been saized and sent for checking in Tunis, 400km far from.

Mustapha, DL1BDF and the Tunisian Amateur Radio Association Chairman, spent all day long to try to solve this problem.

At six PM, Mustapha, DL1BDF;, said Frank, F4AJQ that all was solved for only three transceivers and he was on the way to Sfax .

When Mustapha arrived in Sfax it was too late to take the last boat.

One of the crew, may be two will have to return in Tunis in next Monday to see how is the other transceivers situation.

In such a case the only thing we can do is crossing the fingers to know a better situation on Monday as today"

with sadness,

やはり・・・・・ヨーロッパ向け中心に準備しているようです。
JAへのオープンはただですら短いのですから、苦労しますねこれでは。

KP5 Team Prepares for Europe!

The KP1-5 Project is very aware of the need for KP5 (Desecheo) in Europe. Previous DXpeditions contended with an obstructed path to Europe making working this #3 most needed country, difficult at best.

During the recent reconnaissance trip to KP5, agreement was reached that will allow antennas to be placed on a ridgeline above the helipad that will give a clear path to Europe! The team wants to provide as many EU hams with a QSO as possible.

The KP1-5 Project will appreciate the support from each and every European ham as we prepare to activate KP5!

Please visit our website, www.kp5.us/help.htm to support this DXpedition.

Today we can say that the next F6KOP dxpedition to Tunisia,TS7C has really begun.

On Jan 6th , Bob, N6OXD, Bill, N2WB, Dieter OE8KDK and Stephan OE8SKQ arrived in Roissy CdG Paris airport. Michel, FM5CD was already here too.

Bob, Bill, Dieter and Stephan, will be awaiting the next departure at Bruno, F5AGB family’s whilst Michel FM5CD has been hosted by Jeff, F6AOJ.
To day Mustapha, DL1BDF will be welcome at Roissy CdG airport , by Franco, F4EVR. All the gear is picked up and stocked at Franco, F4EVR’s who lives not far from the airport; It will be very easy to reach the CdG baggage check-in counter zone in time on next Friday night, without fever.

Now in France that’s a sunny but very frosty weather with temperatures under 0C elsewhere and all day and night long. Michel FM5CD who arrives from Fort de France doesn’t like that at all.
See two pictures at :
http://pagesperso-orange.fr/F6AOJ/cariboost1/crbst_151.html

We think it will be a little better in Kerkennah, where the forecast announces a between 8 and 17 C heat but with some rain on the next week end.

Note the sunrise and sunset time in Kerkennah : 0728 and 1720.

Not scheduled but new now for Digitals lovers.
Thank to Jeff, F6AOJ, two bi-bands preamps for 160-80m had been repaired and will be brought to Tunisia by Michel, FM5CD So digitals mode are now included on traffic plan for 160m.

We thank again all of those who support our Expedition by any mean, funds, grant or loan of equipment, lodging op’s, in Paris or around before and after the expedition, spreading information and so on.

Desecheo 2009 Press Release #3

During the week of December 17-21, six members of the February 2009 Desecheo DXpedition team met in Puerto Rico. The team spent the first evening with local DXers and members of the Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and a night of fellowship. The hospitality was gracious and very much appreciated.

The following day the team visited US Fish and Wildlife Headquarters in Boqueron and met with the Chief Refuge Manager and law enforcement personnel. Later that day, the DXpedition team members underwent UXO (unexploded ordnance) training. The following morning, Friday, Dec. 19th, they accompanied U.S. Fish & Wildlife law enforcement and UXO personnel to Desecheo. The campsite and antenna fields were thoroughly swept for UXO and several areas were found suspicious. These areas were clearly marked, mapped by GPS and declared off limits for the DXpedition. USFWS will allow antennas on the ridge above the helicopter pad, thus providing a clear shot to EU, NA and JA. Other antennas will be located on the beach below the helicopter pad. The only radio operation that was conducted was to test a 2m link to Puerto Rico. After three hours on the Island, the team endured a rough passage back to the mainland.

Logistics and staging of equipment is ongoing and will be complete before the team arrives in Puerto Rico on Feb. 7th. The team will transit to Desecheo on Feb. 12 to begin the two-week operation. Eight HF stations plus 6 meters will be operational. An incredible array of antennas has been planned. Transportation and logistics have been arranged for a fast deployment and quick appearance on the air.

The Desecheo 2009 team wishes to thank our sponsors for their generous support. Special thanks go to North American and Japanese DX clubs and individual DXers. Their support has been especially noteworthy.

Fundraising continues….if you or your Club would like to help out, please go to www.kp5.us/help.htm. While on the team website, click the “Pictures” menu button and check out the pictures taken on the recent reconnaissance trip to Desecheo.

ZK2

大分先のぺディションですが、5月にZK2よりZL1CTが予定している。

Chris ZL1CT / GM3WOJ will be QRV as ZK2V between 16th May 2009 and 20th June 2009.

This 5 week DXpedition is not a ‘holiday DXpedition’ but aims to give as many stations their first QSO with ZK2 as possible.

Resources are limited, so activity will be mainly on 80/40/20/15 CW/SSB, with some WARC band activity and some RTTY.

QSL via N3SL.

More details to follow ….

CY0 postpone

ここにもサブプライムの影響が出てきています。
CY0が2010年に延期されました。

from OPDX dx news

Duane Traver, WV2B, the CY0 DXpedition Team Leader, sent out a press release on January 1st, that states the following (edited):

"Dear Fellow DXers,
Reluctantly, due to the current U.S. economic situation, the DXpedition team has decided to postpone the CY0 DXpedition planned for 2009. While we are hopeful toreorganize the DXpedition {possibly for 2010}, we have decided that rather than tie up the funds so graciously made available by our sponsors, we will return donations received so the sponsorship may be available to other DXpeditions for this year.
Any sponsoring organization may feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the matter. We are hopeful that our kind sponsors will be willing to renew their sponsorship when the Dxpedition is able to be reorganized in the future. The sabledx.com website will remain functional for the time being.
Wishing all good DX and 73.
Sincerely, Duane Traver, WV2B Team Leader"
