John,KE6GFF, will stay in the capital Kabul and plans to show up as
T6EE on 14200 kHz (+/- QRM) from Oct 5-31. Other frequencies are not
permitted with his licence. He also plans to take part in the upcoming

South Pole Telescope - US Amundsen Scott Station

Dr. Helmuth Spieler W6KDX will be returning to work on the South Pole Telescope at the US Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station from December 5th to January 5th.

He hopes to re-activate KC4AAA in his spare time on SSB in the vicinity of 14.243 MHz.

3X, GUINEA. Members of the VooDoo Contest Group will enter the CQ World-
Wide DX CW Contest on November 29-30th from Conakry, Guinea, as 3X5A in
the Multi-Multi category. This will be the group's 15th straight year as
a Multi-Multi from West Africa and their 20th straight year participating
in the CQWW DX CW Contest. In the 2007 contest, 3X5A won this category,
first place world, their 6th outright win. This will be their second
visit to 3X5A. They will have their usual 8-9 British and American
operators, seven one-KW stations and a dozen antennas. They will also be
active as 3X5A (no personal callsigns) before the contest, including
activity on the WARC bands and maybe some RTTY. QSL Manager: G3SXW,

T3 - Toshi, JA8BMK was expected to reach Tarawa, Western Kiribati
(T30XX) on 25 September. He should remain there for about 10 days
while waiting for a ship to depart for Central Kiribati (T31XX).
He plans to operate SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31 on 160-6 metres, with
an emphasis on the low bands as well as 12, 17 and 30 metres. QSL

Philippe, F4EGS has his new assigment in Tajikistan, in the city of Duschambe. Thanks to Nodir, EY8MM, his licence is ready to be picked up when he arrives. His stay is scheduled for two months.

QSO’s at his spare time from 40 to 10m, with R7 vertical and FT100 (100 watts)
Modes : SSB/RTTY/PSK/CW; Skeds possible.

Philippe has received his 2009 program as follows:

* January and February, Ivory Coast, city of Abidjan: TU/F4EGS.
* March : Mauritius and Rodrigues Islands, callsigns 3B8 and 3B9/F4EGS.
* May, June July : Chad with his permanent callsign : TT8PK
* August : Tunisia , Djerba Island, callsign to be announced, but certainly 3V8SM, (Tunisian Scouts of Djerba ARC).
