BS7H QRV開始

2007-04-30 13:38:32 | Weblog

14:00 UTC 29 April

The BS7H team worked throughout the day in setting up the stations and
managed to get one station operational as darkness fell. The first QSO was
made at 13:47 UTC.

The dangerous environment prohibits any work in darkness and they were
unable to fully provision the one station that is operating.

As a result, the CW station now on 14024 does not have enough gas to last
the evening so when you hear them qrt do not panic.

At daybreak they will resupply the station as well as complete adding the
other stations.

We expect the team to be fully operation with all stations by darkness
tomorrow.

4月27日0240Z時,スカボロリーフの北西240ノウチカルマイルにいます。波が高いのでBS7到着が現地時間の朝になる予定。
波が高いので,MMの運用はしていません。

At 0240Z 27 April the team was located approximately 240 nautical
miles north west of Scarborough Reef and making less than the expected
progress because of extremely rough seas. The sea has been rough
since departure from Hong Kong and the team is staying as quiet and
still as possible in an effort to reduce exhaustion.

Current estimated arrival to BS7 is their Sunday morning local time.

Because of rough seas, there has been NO MARITIME MOBILE operation.

FSDXA - St. Brandon DXpedition - Bulletin No. 4
By G3XTT/NK1G, Don Field g3xtt@lineone.net
______________________________________________________________________

Plans for the September FSDXA DXpedition to St. Brandon are
progressing well. A suitable boat has been chartered to take the team
and its 6 tonnes of equipment to the island, the licence has been
received, and all permits are in place for our stay on the island.

The team will be operating from Isle du Sud, the southern end of what
is shown on the charts as Cocos Island (not to be confused with Cocos
Island in TI9 or the Cocos-keeling Islands VK9!). Lighthouse on the
Air enthusiasts might be interested to note that Cocos Is. has a
beacon for WLOTA-Ref. LH 1017. This will be an all-time new one for
lighthouse collectors - assuming the light is accessible from Isle du
Sud.

TEAM CHANGES
Some of the previously-announced members have, unfortunately, had to
drop out of the expedition. These include G3VMW, G4KIU, SM5AQD, WF5T
and W3WL. However, we are delighted to announce that they will be
replaced by Bob MD0CCE (also known as N2BB), Pete SM5GMZ (recently QRV
from 6W), Gordon G3USR and Clive GM3POI (well-known as a low band
expert living in the Orkney Islands).

3B7C BROCHURE
We now have a four-page full-colour brochure setting out more
information about our expedition. This can be downloaded in both high
and low definition PDF format from our website (www.3b7c.com which is
now up and running).

FSDXA AWARDED CALCUTTA KEY
At their Meeting on Saturday 16th March the RSGB Board
unanimously agreed that the Five Star DXers Association be awarded the
"Calcutta Key" for the association's outstanding service to
International Friendship.

FSDXA APPROACH TO DXPEDITIONING
Having now QSLed nearly 100,000 3B9C QSOs we calculate we achieved an
average busted call rate of 0.5%. We believe this to be a good figure
although we shall try to improve on it at 3B7C. Learn about the
techniques we use. Get "DXpeditioning Behind the Scenes" from Nevada
Communications. Now available for a special price of ?12.95.

BS7H Press Release #4
______________________________________________________________________

The 2007 Dxpedition to Scarborough Reef is pleased to announce they
have departed on their ship for Scarborough Reef at 06:00 UTC 25
April. The trip is approximately 60 hours and upon arrival they will
immediately build their stations and erect antennas.

This is the culmination of 5 years of planning and preparation. The
International Team led by W6RGG includes 9V1YC, BA1HAM, BA1RB, BA4RF,
BA4RC, BA7NQ, BV6HJ, DU1EV, DU1BA, ND2T, AA4NN, K4UJ, N6MZ, K9AJ,
OH2BH, I8NHJ, and DL3MBG.

They are backed up by a support staff including N4XP, N1DG, K5YY,
BV4FH and DU1JMG to insure that they are safe and informed of events
happening off island.

We wish to thank the Chinese Sport Radio Association, the Philippine
Amateur Radio Association, the American Radio Relay League, NCDXF and
INDEXA who were instrumental in their support.

Scarborough Reef has unique and dangerous attributes and as such we
will not have online logs or pilots. All efforts are on keeping our
team safe so they can provide a new one to as many hams as possible.

Good luck in the pileups, watch www.scarboroughreef.com for updates.
