3B6, AGALEGA ISLAND (DXpedition Update). Team leader Witek, SP9MRO, sent
out the following press release (edited): "2007 DXpedition to Agalega
Islands 3B6 Newsletter No. 3 -- Today (February 21st) the decision to
suspend the expedition to 3B6 Agalega had been taken. We will decide on
March 15th whether it is postponed only or rather cancelled. The decision
is due to enormous costs of the expedition that have much exceeded the
estimated budget.
The expedition was supported by PZK, SP-DX-C, G DX Foundation, EU DX
Foundation and institutional sponsors as well as other hams from a few
countries. We would like to thank all of those. Our main sponsors have
decided that the period between receiving the licenses and the time set
by Mauritius' government to start the ham's activity is too short.
Due to all of that, expedition's members are checking the possibility to
postpone it until the 4th term of 2007 unless it collides with September's
expedition to St. Brandon.
All of the donations will be immediately returned the same form they
were paid. We hope that, in case of reorganizing the expedition to Agalega
in the end of this year, our kind donors will be able to support us once
again. We would like to thank those who supported our actions, especially
those from Mauritius. Simultaneously we would like to apologize to all of
those who along with us counted on QSO in March 2007."

イギリスの郵便料金が改定されます

2007年4月2日から変わります。
1USドルでは足りなくなります。
NEW UK POSTAL RATES ---> Effective 2 April, UK postal rates will rise across
the board by slightly more than 10%. Whereas 1 USD has been insufficient to
pay for the minimum return postage to countries outside Europe for some time
now, this new increase will mean that 1 USD is no longer sufficient to pay
for the minimum return postage to countries *within* Europe. The new, 2009
expiry IRCs are still exchangeable for the minimum return postage to all
parts of the world.

UPDATE on the 2007 DXPEDITION TO SCARBOROUGH REEF

News Release Sunday, February 11, 2007:

The web site is now up and running <http://www.bs7h.com>.
It is still under construction and some portions are not yet active.
You will find a list of operators, map of the area and details on
contributing financially to the DXpedition.

This will be an expensive operation, mostly due to the transportation by
ship. Your financial help will be greatly appreciated.

Keep watching this web site for further updates.

BS7H ready to go!!!!

2007-02-10 20:29:13 | Weblog
Scarborough Reef (a.k.a. Huang Yan Dao) is located at 15.1 North 117.5 East
in the South China Sea and is more than 500 miles from mainland China.
There have been three BS7H operations from Huang Yan Dao, which literally
means Yellow Rock Islands. The first operation, which made about 2,000
QSOs, was in late June 1994 and did not count for DXCC. The second
operation started on April 12, 1995 and ran for just under 4 days managing
some 11,835 QSOs. This operation did count for DXCC. The last operation
took place in late April and early May 1997 but came to a halt after just
over 70 hours and 13,154 QSOs. This was when the Philippine Navy showed up
and the Chinese ops agreed to leave. Scarborough Reef now ranks as the
number one most wanted DXCC Entity. In fact it is number one everywhere
except in Asia (#7), North America Mountain Time Zone (#3) and North America
Pacific Time Zone (#4).

Announcing the 2007 DXpedition to Huang Yan Dao

Better Known as...Scarborough Reef

After three years of effort to obtain permission to land and operate from
the most needed entity in the world, that needed authorization has been
received. A multi-national team led by W6RGG will operate from Scarborough
Reef for ten days in late April 2007. BA1HAM and BV4FH have been
instrumental in bringing this operation to reality with ongoing support
being provided by N4XP, N1DG, K5YY and N6MZ.

A team is being assembled that will include members from Asia, Europe and
the USA.

As with any DXpedition to a location such as this, transportation is very
costly and will be the largest single expense. Success will depend on the
contributions of the DX Community.

Please QRX for more information as it becomes available and the web site is
activated.
