Minicoy Island (AS-106) during January 2007 has been accepted by the
DXCC Desk for DXCC credit.

Rumor has it that V63RE, Nando, had to return home urgently due to
some serious health issues of his mother. V63WN, Claudio, also
traveled with Nando. V63J, Mike, plans to continue by himself to
Woleai Atoll (OC-132) and is now QRV from this rare one for the next
two days.

Ｎ８Ｓ 撤収予定

The N8S team will begin tearing down stations and antennas on Sunday
morning around 6 AM local time (1900Z). Most likely they will keep
two stations on the air until about 10 AM Sunday local time (2100Z).
They expect to leave the island by about 12 noon Sunday local time
(2300Z).

YU1AA, Aco, also released some information about the N8S operation,
which was received yesterday from Hrane. The temperature at that time
was 44C and 35C in the water! On the island there are many boring and
hungry mosquitoes. In the sea around the island are many sharks!
(Ed. And then there are the DXers over the airwaves!) The satellite
connections have been very poor, hence the delay in uploading of the
logs. Also because of the high temperatures the team has been
shutting down the generators for several hours, so they can cool down.
YZ1EW, Acim, says the team now has 88K QSOs and confirms shutdown
around 18Z on Sunday.
