もう怖くて出来ないのですが、確か30代の半ば頃、ニューヨークでNAMSBIと云うメンズの合同展が元気だった頃
毎回出向いておりまして、其の時に街中の自転車のショーウィンドーに飾られていた自転車に一目惚れしまして
店内に入りますと、店主が、
（乗ってみるか？）と言われまして、
僕が驚いておりますと、ショーウィンドーから自転車を下ろしてペダルを装着しまして、
（走ってきなよ！）と。
日本では中々考えられない試乗をニューヨークのそれも街中で体験しまして、衝動買いしたのをよく覚えております。
当時、サスペンション付きの自転車など見たこともなくて、米ドルで確か30万円くらいしたと思うのですが、
日本に送ってもらう事になりまして、それからというもの自転車（マウンテンバイク）にはまりまして、
最初にニューヨークで購入したのがTREKで、帰国後もSPECIALIZEDから他にも色々と購入しまして、
改造に改造を重ねておりましたね。
ホィールはMAVICだよね！とか。
そしてダウンヒルにも凝りまして、お客さんを集めて山に出向きまして、よく遊んでおりました。
勿論、ヘルメットにプロテクターなど装備しまして、その上から中古のアメリカンフットボールのジャージなど
着込みまして、我ながらスタイルだけは最高！などと思っておりました。
そんなマウンテンバイクに特化したカテゴリーをパタゴニアも展開をしておりまして、

The wheels were MAVIC, right? I also got into downhill riding, and would gather a group of people and go to the mountains to have fun.
Of course, I was equipped with helmets and protectors, and I would wear second-hand American football jerseys
over the top, and I thought to myself that I looked great!
