こちらのウィンドブレーカーなんです！

一応ネーミングはトレーニングトップになります。

何となく其のネーミングも有りだな。と思わせられますね。

TAKE IVYなどの写真集に出てきそうな羽織物で、そこはかとなくアイビームードを漂わせております。

このウィンドブレーカーですが、素材はナイロン100％でこの中央の太いホワイトのラインが効いたデザイン

になります。

このウィンドブレーカーは見るよりも実際に着用されますと、中々エエ感じ！と思って頂けると思いますね。

This is the windbreaker!

It's called Training Top for the time being.

It somehow makes you think that the name makes sense.

It's a jacket that you might see in a photo book by TAKE IVY or the like, and it has a subtle Ivy League vibe.

This windbreaker is made from 100% nylon and has a design with a thick white line down the middle.

I think you'll think this windbreaker looks pretty great when you actually wear it, rather than just looking at it.

BIRKENSTOCKの次男坊ARIZONAの御紹介！

1973年に産声をあげましたARIZONAは、当時世界中を席巻しましたヒッピームーブメントに依って

米国を始めヨーロッパ諸国で大流行を収めました。

日本でもサーファーブームなどの後押しも相まってARIZONAは大流行したのを覚えております。

当時、僕の先輩（ジェリーロペスヘアーの）たちは、ビルケンシュトックの事を

（バーケンストック！）と呼んでおりましたね。

リーバイスの517のコーデュロィにARIZONAなど履いている先輩が多かったですね。

ですからBIRKENSTOCKと云えば、頭に一番に浮かぶのはやはりARIZONAなんですね。

誕生しまして50年も同じデザインで作り続けられているのでもはや定番中の定番になりますね。

そして本日ご紹介のARIZONAは、

Introducing BIRKENSTOCK's second son, ARIZONA!

ARIZONA was born in 1973 and became a huge hit in the United States and other European countries due to the hippie movement that swept the world at the time.

I remember that ARIZONA was also a big hit in Japan, supported by the surfer boom.

At that time, my seniors (Gerry Lopez Hair) called Birkenstocks

(Birkenstocks!).

Many of them wore Levi's 517 corduroy and ARIZONA.

So when you think of BIRKENSTOCK, the first thing that comes to mind is ARIZONA.

It has been 50 years since its birth and the same design has been made, so it has become a classic.

And the ARIZONA that I will introduce today is,

VEGAN仕様になります。

欧米諸国では動物性たんぱく質を取らない人種が増えてきており、此の様なシューズが誕生するのも頷けますね。

（僕は違うのですが）

They are vegan.

In Western countries, the number of people who do not consume animal protein is increasing, so it makes sense that shoes like this have been created.

(I am not one of them.)

こちらのアッパーのベルト部分も皮革を使用せずに表面波キャンバス素材で皮膚に当たる裏面はフェルト素材に

なっております。

インソールもマイクロファイバーでフットベッドはお馴染みのコルクとなります。

The belt part of the upper is also made of corrugated canvas material, without using leather, and the back side that touches the skin is made of felt material.

The insole is also made of microfiber, and the footbed is made of the familiar cork.

ソールはアッパーと同色のBirkソールになり小洒落た雰囲気も演出されておりますね。

さて、ここいらで僕もBIRKENSTOCKのマイスターを持っておりますので、ARIZONAの正しい履き方を伝授！

How about using it with Kiholo Kai's pullover Blu-ray shirts, made in the now defunct REYN SPOONER factory!

Now, as I'm also a BIRKENSTOCK master, I'll teach you the correct way to wear ARIZONA!

先ずは、ベルトを開きまして、

First, open the belt,

足を乗せます。この際にきちんと立ってみてください。

座っているのと立っているではフットベッドに掛かる体重も変わってきますので。

すなわち足の形も変わってくると云うことです。

足先には指1本分の捨て寸が必要になります。

捨て寸が無ければフットベッドの形状を壊す恐れがありますので。

足の指は歩くたびに動かしていますので。

Place your foot on the footbed. Try standing up properly while you do this.

The weight placed on the footbed changes when you are sitting and standing.

This means that the shape of your foot also changes.

You need to leave the width of one finger at the toes.

If there is no allowance, you may damage the shape of the footbed.

Your toes move every time you walk.

そして踵がすっぽりとフットベッドの中に収まるのが正しいサイズ選びとなります。

The correct size is when your heel fits snugly inside the footbed.

そして先ず甲の部分のベルトをしっかり締めて下さい。

ARIZONAは、甲で固定して履くのが正しい履き方になります。

First, make sure to fasten the strap around the instep firmly.

The correct way to wear ARIZONA shoes is to fasten them around the instep.

指の部分のベルトはゆとりを持たせて留めて下さい。

何故なら、歩行時に指が動かせる状態が正しいので。

以上、ARIZONAの正しい履き方になります。

Make sure to fasten the straps around your toes loosely.

This is because your toes should be able to move freely when walking.

This is the correct way to wear ARIZONA.

もうワンカラーは、綺麗な発色のサックスブルー！

今日は丁稚が愛してやまないローマのアメトラブランドCHESAPEAKESのご紹介！

（2025年の春夏商品になります）

Today I would like to introduce to you the Roman American traditional brand CHESAPEAKES, which is my favorite! (These are their Spring/Summer 2025 products)

先ずはアメトラの定番的なアウターCPOになります。

Chief petty officerの省略語で主に戦艦の艦上での作業に使用されましたシャツジャケットになります。

ヴィンテージなどでよく見かけますのは、ウール素材になりますが、

First, we have the classic American traditional outerwear, the CPO.

It is an abbreviation for Chief Petty Officer, and is a shirt jacket that was mainly used for work on board battleships.

The ones you often see in vintage items are made of wool,

こちらはコットンのヘリンボーンツィルを使用しております。

春は勿論ですが、秋口それからダウンベストなどレイヤードされれば初冬まで充分にお使い頂けるアウターと

なりますね。

こちらインディゴで染められておりますので、

This item is made of cotton herringbone twill.

It's perfect for spring, but it can also be worn in early autumn and even into early winter if layered with a down vest.

It's dyed with indigo, so

洗い加工に依り新品時からエエ雰囲気のエイジングもお楽しみ頂けます！

上手いですよね！イタリア人はアメリカ物を、より素敵に表現されるのは本当に長けていると思いますね。

ヴィンテージに近いリアルな物作りではなくて、素材の置き換えや洗い加工それからサイズ感などで本物より

格好良く表現するのに長けている人種だと思いますね。

本来のアメリカ物は、機能美や耐久性などには長けているのですが、どこか野暮ったい雰囲気が残るウェアーですよね。

（そこが又アメリカ物の魅力なのかもしれませんが）

其の昔、ストーンウォッシュ（軽石でジーパンを洗う加工）成る加工方など見出したのもイタリア人で、

カッコイイ物作りには本当に長けた人種だと思いますね。

多分、日頃からファッションや日焼けや車に上手い飯の事ばかり考えているからでしょうね。

イタリアに通えば通うほど痛感してきますので。

お話を戻しましてと、

The washing process gives the item a nice aging look right from the time it's new!

They're really good at it! I think Italians are really good at expressing American items in a more beautiful way.

They're not making things that are realistic and close to vintage, but they're good at making things look cooler than the real thing by replacing materials, washing them, and using sizing.

Original American items are good at functional beauty and durability, but they have a somewhat unfashionable feel to them.

(Maybe that's the charm of American items)

Italians were the ones who discovered the stone washing process (washing jeans with pumice) a long time ago, so I think they're really good at making cool things.

Maybe it's because they're always thinking about fashion, tanning, cars, and good food.

The more I go to Italy, the more I feel that way.

Getting back to the topic,

As you can see, it matches well with the US Navy chambray shirt from CHESAPEAKEES, which is also a favorite of mine!

It looked so good that it looked like it was coordinated with the rest of the outfit.

ヴィンテージよりもシルエットが綺麗なので現在の洋服とのコーディネィトもし易いですね。

米国のボストニアンの避暑地ケープコッドの沖合に有るナンタケット島でボストニアンの別荘地になります。

古き良きアメリカが残る素敵な街並みもございます。

古着屋時代に毎月ボストンの南ニューベッドフォードの古着の工場でピックしておりまして、

其の工場の社長の自宅がハイアニスとJFKなどの自宅のある街に住んでおり、夏場にはナンタケット島に避暑に

出向いておりまして、僕も同行させて頂いた思い出がございます。

白人のリゾート地って色濃く残る島ですね。

アイビーな香り漂うリゾート地になります。

そしてこちらが、

These candy-striped oxford Bermuda shorts are named Nantucket shorts! Nantucket Island is located off the coast of Cape Cod, a summer resort for Bostonians in the United States, and is a vacation spot for Bostonians. There are also beautiful streets that retain the good old American atmosphere. When I was working at a second-hand clothing store, I used to pick clothes from a second-hand clothing factory in New Bedford, south of Boston, every month. The president of the factory lived in a city with homes in Hyannis and JFK, and in the summer he would come to Nantucket Island to escape the heat, and I have fond memories of accompanying him. This is an island where the image of a resort for white people remains strong. It is a resort with an Ivy League atmosphere. And this is,

英国のトラウザーズ専業ブランドCORDINGSで、

クラシックなサイドアジャスター付きのデザインで

フロントもクラシックなボタンフライとなります！

そして生地は

イタリアのSOMELOSのコードレーンを使用しまして企画させて頂きます。

（SOMELOSのコードレーンは、ピケ素材みたいな畝状になっており生地自身に独特な立体感もございまして

素敵な夏素材になります。さすがイタリアの生地屋ですね。一目で上物な生地と判って頂けると思います。）

シルエットはボーイズのみのパターン（今までとシルエットは同じになります）で、今回からは

サイズピッチもCORDINGSにお願いしまして1インチ刻みで展開させて頂きます。

（今年までは2インチピッチでしたので）

29インチの方は30インチを購入されましてウエスト詰めなどで対応しておりました。

来年からは、其の手間も省けまして最初から丈上げのみでお楽しみ頂けます。

久しぶりにご対面させて頂きました！

It's been a long time since we last met!

もうかれこれ30年以上前になるとは思うのですが、其の当時は、年に2回はアメリカのラスベガスで開催されます

MAGIC（因みにイリュージョンの方ではございません）に出向きまして新品のアメリカ物に関してはオーダーしており

まして、其の当時はバリーブリッケンやBDバギーズから其の当時はBARBOURやGLOBERALLなどの英国物もアメリカ

から並行で輸入しておりました。

其の当時、ブースを見まして一目惚れしましたのが、

It must have been more than 30 years ago, but back then I would go to MAGIC (not Illusion, by the way) twice a year, which is held in Las Vegas, USA, and order new American products. At that time, we imported Barry Bricken and BD Baggies, as well as British products such as BARBOUR and GLOBERALL from the US. At that time, I saw a booth and fell in love at first sight with this product.

こちらのWillis&Geigerなんです。

僕の知識では其の当時、ウィリスアンドガイガーと云えばヴィンテージのA-2ジャケットが思い浮かぶ感じ

でしたが、其のブースはまるでアフリカのグレートハンティングを思わせる雰囲気で、TANとPEWTER（セージグリーン）

のお色のハンティングジャケットやハンティングベストなどが小洒落て展示されておりました！

確かMAGICでも雰囲気の良い演出などの賞も受賞されてたと思います。

其の後、ニューヨークに出向く機会がありまして、Willis&Geigerのオフィスを訪れまして、色々な商品を発注致しまして

実店舗でも販売しておりました！

僕もヘミングウェイジャケットや同素材のバミューダショーツなど購入しましてお気に入りで愛用しておりました。

着込めば着込むほどに味わい良く経年変化を魅せるブッシュポプリンに魅了されたもんです。

ひょっとしましたら其の当時のジャケットなどが倉庫のどこかに眠っているかと思うのですが、其の当時は全て米国製

でしたのでサイズもかなり大きかったと記憶しておりますから、現在着用する事は不可能かと思います。

このウィリスアンドガイガーの使用しておりますブッシュポプリンは、4PLYのコットンで編み立てられておりまして

強度も強くて耐久性にも優れているのですが、着心地も最初から、そこまでタフではないのが嬉しいですね。

This is Willis & Geiger.

At the time, I thought of Willis & Geiger as a vintage A-2 jacket

but the booth had an atmosphere reminiscent of the Great Hunt in Africa, with hunting jackets and hunting vests in tan and pewter (sage green)

stylishly displayed!

I think they also won an award for good atmosphere at MAGIC.

After that, I had the opportunity to go to New York, visited the Willis & Geiger office, and ordered various products

which were also sold in the physical store!

I also bought a Hemingway jacket and Bermuda shorts made of the same material, and they were my favorites.

I was fascinated by bush poplin, which becomes more tasteful and changes over time the more you wear it.

I think there may be some jackets from that time still lying around in the warehouse somewhere, but since they were all made in the US

at the time, I remember they were quite large, so I don't think it would be possible to wear them now.

The bush poplin used by Willis & Geiger is knitted from 4-ply cotton

which is strong and durable, but it's nice that it's not too tough to wear from the start.

早速、試着してみました！

サンプルサイズは、38サイズでしたが、そこまで大き過ぎる事もなくて、このサイズ感なら僕達日本人でも充分

だなと思いました。

すると、代理店の方から、生地は米国で作られますブッシュポプリンですが、日本人に合わせて日本の工場で縫製

していると仰っておりました。

生地が其の当時と同じ生地なら着込めば、あのエエ感じな経年変化も楽しめるし、おまけに日本での縫製なら

僕達にも丁度良いサイズ感で愛用出来ると、これ以上ない喜びとなりますね。

上記の写真が、ウィリスアンドガイガーの代名詞的なヘミングウェイジャケットのTANのお色になります。

I tried it on right away!

The sample size was 38, but it wasn't too big and I thought it would be enough for Japanese people like us.

The distributor then told me that the fabric is bush poplin made in the US, but sewn in a factory in Japan to suit Japanese people.

If the fabric is the same as it was back then, we can enjoy the nice aging effect as we wear it, and if it's sewn in Japan, it will be just the right size for us, which would be a great joy.

The photo above shows the TAN color of the Hemingway jacket, which is synonymous with Willis & Geiger.

そして、こちらがPEWTERと云うセージグリーンみたいなお色目になります。

（こちらは40サイズなので僕にはかなり大きかったです）

こちらは、かのヘミングウェイがアフリカ探検に行く際、ウィリスアンドガイガーに作らせましたモデルになります。

伝統的なウエストベルトを削除しましてウエストにゴムシャーリングを入れさせまして、右肩にはガンパッチそして

左胸にはライフルのカートリッジが装備できるポケットも配備しております。

フロントは、パッチ付きの4ポケットで、大容量なので色々な物も収納可能となります。

And this one is called PEWTER and is a sage green color.

(This one is size 40, so it was quite big for me)

This is the model that Hemingway had Willis & Geiger make for him when he went on an expedition to Africa.

The traditional waist belt has been removed and elastic shirring has been added to the waist, there is a gun patch on the right shoulder,

and there is a pocket on the left chest that can hold rifle cartridges.

The front has four pockets with patches, and its large capacity means you can store a variety of items.

そして左袖には彼の眼鏡を収めるポケットが装備されております。

ヘミングウェイの拘りが色々と詰まりましたジャケットとなります。

さて気になるお値段なのですが、現状米国でヘミングウェイを作りますと、人件費の高騰や現在の為替ですと

250000円相当になってしまうのですが、こちらは生地は米国から取り寄せまして日本で縫製致しますので、

消費税込みで99000円になります。

かなりお買い得なお値段になりサイズもジャストで着用出来まして、おまけに着れば着るほど素敵な経年変化も

お楽しみできると云う事無しかと思いますね。

（現在では洋服などのパターンもキャドなどで作るのですが、こちらは当時の手引きのパターンを使用しまして

縫製致しますので、昔のどこか温かみの残る洋服に仕上がっておりますね）

因みに僕のサイズで36サイズになると思います。

もう一枚は、これまたレアーな逸品となります。

This jacket is full of Hemingway's attention to detail.

Now, as for the price, if we were to make a Hemingway in the US, it would cost 250,000 yen due to rising labour costs and the current exchange rate, but this one will be sewn in Japan, so it will be 99,000 yen including tax.

It's a great deal at a great price, and the size fits just right, and the more you wear it, the more you can enjoy the beautiful changes that occur over time.

(These days, patterns for clothes and other items are made using CAD, but this one is sewn using a manual pattern from that time, so it has a warm feeling of the past.)

By the way, I think it's a size 36 for me.

The other one is also a rare item.

米空軍のサマーフライトジャケットAN6551品番！

これ実はWillis&Geigerが商品化しなかったモデルで、今回初お目見えとなります。

1950年代の夏もしくは熱帯地方での戦闘を目的としましたフライトジャケットでヘミングウェイと同じ

ブッシュポプリンを使用しております。

お襟は襟が立て易いショールカラーになり、フロントには４パッチポケットを採用しております。

当時は、高高度まで飛ばなくて飛行機自体の機密性も低くて防寒性をそこまで求めなかったので、こちらの

ブッシュポプリンを使用したそうです。

特徴としては、

US Air Force summer flight jacket, item number AN6551!

This is actually a model that Willis & Geiger never commercialized, and it will be making its first appearance.

This flight jacket was designed for combat in the summer or tropical regions in the 1950s, and is made of the same bush poplin as the Hemingway.

The collar is a shawl collar that is easy to stand up, and there are four patch pockets on the front.

At the time, planes did not fly at high altitudes, and the aircraft themselves were not very airtight, so there was not much need for protection from the cold, so this bush poplin was used.

Its features include:

両肩から脇に掛けての大きなアクションプリーツで可動域を確保しまして、

Large action pleats from both shoulders to sides ensure a wide range of motion.

こちらの二段の独特な脇マチで操縦桿を握り易くしているそうです。

こちらはTANのみのお色で同じく99000円となります。

どちらも魅力的でしたので、ヘミングウェイをPEWTERでフライトジャケットをTANにしようかと

目論んでおります。

アスファルトジャングルのお江戸にトレジャーハンティングです！

昨日は、ビッシリと展示会が時間刻みに詰まっており、いつもならお楽しみの昼飯も取れず展示会場を

回る運びに！

最終の展示会場で別注のミーティングが終わったのが、8時過ぎと。

水と炭酸水飲みの1日でした！

でも好きな事を生業にしておりますので、展示会場を回る度にときめきも頂けるのが嬉しい限りです。

先ずは、

アメトラ王道のインディビジュアライズドシャツでは、

（ここのところ日本の暑さも南米並みの酷暑になっておりますので、T−SHでは暑すぎるので、

何か真夏に涼しいシャツを企画せねばと思っておりました！）

基本的にアロハしか半袖シャツは着ないので、何かないかな？と思っていましたら、

着丈が長すぎますので、着丈を僕達がアウトに出しても丁度良い寸法に調整させて頂きます。

麻特有のシャリ感もございますし、身幅もクラシックフィットですから肌に触らずで真夏には本当に着心地の

良いシャツになるかと思います。

こちらも米国製の生地でコットン100％になります。

着込んでアタリ感や皺など刻まれましたら手放せない一枚になってくれると思いますね。

頑なにMADE IN USAを貫くトラウザーズ専業メーカーになります。

こんな感じで男臭いチノ素材が有名なのですが、

この手合いは、サイズ感も小さめで

普段、丁稚がパラブーツなどで6Hを履いておりますが、ブラッチャーモカシンは８サイズで丁度良い感じでした。

僕でパラブーツが８サイズでこちらは10サイズで多少ゆとり感はありますが、シューレースで調整も可能になりますので

僕は10サイズで個人買いです。

真っ赤なトラウザーズにバッチリ似合うそうと今から心ワクワクになります。
