Today, I'd like to report English Plus' last school activity in 2022.
From November 29th to December 24th, we have been holding our last school activity "Christmas Month" this year.
We usually hold Christmas Party for our students at English Plus at this time of year; however, unfortunately this year because of prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we had to change our plan and are holding Christmas Month instead.
This Christmas Month is an activity that almost all of our students are joining for about a month.
Each week, there are different kinds of games and classmates need to cooperate with each other in order to get higher scores.
It seems that everyone of the participants enjoys playing the games after the lessons.
Since we believe it has become a successful event, we will hold some of fun activities at English Plus next year too.
Thank you all of our students for joining the activity.
Let's learn and use English a lot, and improve a lot next year too!

In our daily business, we make and use a lot of documents.
I guess you can name some of them.
There are a lot of business documents, but some of them may not be so familiar in English for Japanese business people, so today let's learn some documents in English; for instance...

・sales report = 営業報告書
・annual report = 年次報告書
・draft = 草案・下書き
・identification card (ID card) = 身分証明書

Since the spring of 2020, we've heard and seen a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on TV, the radio, and websites.
Currently vaccine is available; however, there are some variants including Omicron variant and quite a few new cases are reported every day around the world.
This is really bad news for people all over the world, and I hope the spread of Coronavirus infections will settle down very soon and things will get back to normal as soon as possible.
Under this circumstance, some of us might need to send or might have a chance to send messages in English.
Today, let's learn some English expressions about the current COVID-19 situation in Japan, especially the rumor of the seventh wave of COVID-19 in English.

・Some experts say that the seventh wave of the COVID-19 may start in Japan in the near future.（専門家によると近々、日本ではコロナの第７波が始まると言われています）

本日のブログは“新型コロナウイルスに関しての英語表現「昨日、日本全国でコロナ感染者数が過去最多の８万人超でした」と言いたい時に使える英語表現（日本語編）”です。

２０２０年の春頃から、日本のみならずアメリカやカナダ、ヨーロッパなど世界中のテレビやラジオ、インターネットのニュースでも取り上げられているように、最近でもニュースの話題はコロナウイルスですが、オミクロン変異株の影響等でさらに感染者数が増えている所もあります。

日本においても同様の状況で、現段階ではいつ収束するかわからない状況です。

このような状況でも、海外の方（ビジネス上でお付き合いのある方、お客様、同僚、友人等）と英語でのメールやメッセージをやり取りをされる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

この状況下で日本の現状を英語で伝えたい方もいらっしゃるかと思いますので、今日は「昨日、日本全国でコロナ感染者数が過去最多の８万人超でした」と言いたい時の英語表現を学習していきたいと思います。

Today, I'd like to report English Plus' last school activity in 2021.
From the weeks of December 7th to December 18th, we held our last school activity "Christmas Scrabble" this year.
We usually hold Christmas Party for our students at English Plus, however, this year because of COVID-19, we had to change our plan and created Christmas Scrabble instead.
This Christmas Scrabble was a new activity and everyone seemed to have fun playing the game after the lessons.
All of them spent some time trying to make the best word they could create, and everyone of them did a good job!
Since it became another successful activity, we hope we will be able to hold some of fun activities at English Plus next year.
Thank you all of our students for joining the activity.
Let's learn and use English a lot, and improve a lot next year too!

Today, I'd like to report happy news about English Plus' students.
On Oct 1st, English Plus turned 10 years old thanks to especially you and all of our students.
To appreciate our 10th year anniversary, we held some events for our students in October.
One of the events was "checking current English skills through taking an exam" to see how much each student has improved since they started taking a lesson here at English Plus.
The theme of the test was "Me in the past vs. current Me."
All of our students usually need to take a placement test just before taking their first lessons at English Plus.
During the month of October, our students took the same placement test and we checked the score to see how much they have improved.
The scores were surprising because all of our students' scores were much better than before. Well done!
We know and feel every one of our students has been improving their English skills since they started taking lessons here; Plus, this time we could clearly see the improvement with the test score.
We are really happy and we'd like to continue seeing their improvement from now on too, so we'll continue supporting them by providing good, practical, fun English lessons and self-study support!
English Plus is an English school whose students are elementary school, junior high, high school students, university students, adults and those who are already retired.
A lot of varieties of students are enjoying learning English here.

Today, let's learn some English expressions from recent news topics of Coronavirus.
Since March 2020, we have heard or seen a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on TV, the radio, and websites.
They say more and more people are still infected with the Coronavirus in some places.
On the other hand, in Japan, the recent situation of COVID-19 is getting better according to some news reports.
This is surely good news for Japan, and I hope the spread of Coronavirus infections in the world will settle down soon and things will get back to normal.
Under this circumstance, some of us might need to send or might have a chance to send messages to someone in English.
Today, let's learn some expressions to report about the current situation in Japan, for instance:

・The Coronavirus pandemic is settling down in Japan.
・It seems that the COVID-19 has subsided in Japan.
・The Coronavirus situation has calmed down in Japan.

If you feel these expressions are helpful, please use one of them above when necessary.
