本日は“英語力向上のためのEnglish Plus（英語学校）の４つの特徴 ～ その４．レッスン後の自己学習サポート（日本語編）”です。

English Plusは小さな英語学校ですので、講師・スタッフ・レッスン受講生との距離が近く、受講生一人一人の英語学習での相談などを気軽にしていただくことができます。

また、小さな学校ですので講師が各個人の英語力の強み・弱み、英語学習の取り組み等も把握できる環境です。

English Plusのレッスン受講生にはお伝えしていますが「定期的なレッスン受講」に加えて「毎日の自己学習をすること」が英語力の伸びを考えた上で重要なことだと認識しており、English Plusのレッスンは基本的に１クラス４名までの少人数制・９０分のグループレッスンで行っています。

またレッスン後は、レッスン受講生が無理なく復習等の自己学習を毎日すること、すなわち「英語学習の習慣化」をするためにEnglish Plusでは英語学校のスローガン“Every day English”を決め、各レッスン受講生が「無理なく毎日英語学習に取り組める」ような工夫をしています。

これら「レッスン」と「自己学習」がEnglish Plusでは大事なことだと思っていますが、今日はもう少しEnglish Plusの特徴をお伝えしていきたいと思います。

いくつか特徴がありますがそのうちの１つが「自己学習サポート」です。

レッスンの中では英語を学習・練習して英語の基礎力を上げていきますが、生徒様一人ひとりの英語が必要な理由や目標は違います。

そのため、一人ひとりの目標にぴたっと標準を合わせて向かっていくためには、自己学習でのプラスアルファが欠かせません。

そこで、各生徒の方の目標や弱点等に合わせて自己学習をプラスし、しっかりと目標達成が出来るようにEnglish Plusでは様々な自己学習サポートも行っています。

現在、実際に行っている自己学習サポートとしましては「英語日記」「毎週のE-mailの課題」「個別の復習用ワークシート」「瞬間英作文」「TOEICテスト対策」等があります。

「無理なく習慣的に取り組める自己学習」をEnglish Plusはこれからも提供していきます。

Today, I'd like to write about one of the features of English Plus.
English Plus is a small, friendly, fun, and also has a family atmosphere school; thus, we can listen to our students' comments directly and support them by providing necessary service in order to help them improve their English skills.
When we know and realize their weakness, we can suggest some effective self-training methods for each of them.
We usually tell our students that "taking lessons regularly" is important, and "doing self-study constantly" is also necessary to improve English skills.
At English Plus, we mainly provide 90-min group lessons, which consist of maximum 4 students in a class.
After the lessons, we usually give our students some homework and most of them try and submit it the next time they take lessons.
Since English Plus' slogan is "Every day English", most of our students try to study not only on a lesson day but also in their free time.
We feel that studying English has become daily routine for most of our students. (Great job!)
Actually, there are various features of our service, and I'd like to let you know more about them.
One of our features is "self-study support."
In our English lessons, we focus on helping our students improve their basic English skills, and at the same time, we understand each of their goals and purposes to learning English is different.
So, we suggest every one of our students try to do self-study regularly.
There are currently some self-study support available at English Plus, such as "English Diary", "Weekly E-mail task", "Individual lesson review worksheet", "English composition", "TOEIC test preparation", and so on.
Almost all of our students use our self-study support and do regular self-study.
We're going to continue offering better self-study support from now on too.

いくつか特徴がありますがそのうちの１つが「実用的なオリジナルのカリキュラム＆レッスン」です。

English Plusのグループレッスンは「実用的なオリジナルのカリキュラム」に基づいて行っています。

English Plus のレッスンは、どのコースでも一冊のテキストに沿って進んでいく形ではありません。

また「テキストの例文を暗記する」というレッスン方法でもありません。

English Plusでは「自ら英文を作ることができる能力（英語力）を身につけること」および「英語コミュニケーションを通して楽しく・しっかりと身に付けていくこと」を大切にしています。

この目的のためにEnglish Plusで行っている全てのレッスンは「実用的なオリジナルのカリキュラム」に基づいて行われます。

オリジナルのカリキュラムは、当校講師のティーチング経験およびTESL資格（英語教授法資格）で学んだ教えるポイントを適切に盛り込みつつ、レベル別に整理してあるため、無理なく無駄なく大切なポイントをコミュニケーションを通して効果的に学べるようになっています。

また、このカリキュラム構成やレッスン内容には、講師やスタッフ、生徒の方々の英語学習体験・海外での経験なども組み込んだ内容もたくさん取り込んでいますので、より実践的で使える内容を学ぶことができます。

毎レッスン後にはレッスンの振り返り（例えばレッスン受講生から質問があった点、わかりにくかった点等のフィードバック）をした上で、レッスンをより良いものにするためにアップデートしています。

レッスン受講生一人一人の英語力が着実に伸びるように、English Plusはこれからも工夫を重ねていきます。

Actually, there are various features of our lessons and self-study support, and I'd like to write more about them.
One of our features is "practical original lesson and curriculum."
All of our group lessons are based on original curriculum, which means our students don't use specific textbooks or memorize dialogues in textbooks.
The reason we are making our original curriculum is for our students to acquire basic English skills and communicate well.
Basic English skills mean they can make sentences freely and accurately.
Also, since we don't have any specific textbooks to read, our students have to communicate directly with other classmates and instructors in English.
To master basic English skills and communication skills, our lessons are carried out on our practical original curriculum.
Our original curriculum contains our instructors' teaching experience and some important points that we've learned through TESL curriculum.
The curriculum is separated by each level, from beginner to high intermediate, and our students can effectively learn important tips for acquiring basic English and communication skills.
In addition, this curriculum includes not only our instructors' teaching experience but also our students' and staff members' learning experience, so it is very practical.
After every lesson is done, our teachers check the lesson to see if the lesson was easy for our students to understand or if there is something we should change about it.
For better lessons, we update and improve our lessons every day.
We are going to improve how to teach English from now on too.

いくつか特徴がありますがそのうちの１つが「４名までの少人数制レッスン」です。

英語は学んで終わりという学問ではなく、学んで使うコミュニケーションのための、いわゆるツール（道具）です。

英語はコミュニケーションツールと言う点を考慮すると、英語は学んだ後、どのように使っていくかがポイントになります。

また、実際に英語でやり取りをする中で学んだり習ったものが定着していきます。

これらの点を踏まえると、１対１よりも、人数が多い方が会話のトピックや幅は広がり、様々な人の発音や表現、考えを吸収することが出来ます。

しかし、逆に人数が多すぎると質問や発言をしづらかったり、一人ひとりの発言時間が極端に減ってしまったりします。

このためEnglish Plusでは４名までの少人数制を採用しています。

４名までの少人数制のクラスサイズは、英語でのコミュニケーションがより良く進み、かつ講師の目の行き届く範囲で必要な時にはしっかりとフォローできる、英語学習に効果的なサイズです。

English Plusの講師の今までのティーチングの経験（大人数の専門学校のクラス、大手英会話教室のマンツーマン等）の中から、自信を持ってお勧めできるスタイルです。

Actually, there are various features of our lessons and self-study support, and I'd like to let you know more about them.
One of our features is "small class size."
As you probably know, from the communication point of view, English is not an academic subject but a communication tool.
Considering English as a communication tool, the most important point is how we use English after learning it.
Through our personal learning experience, practicing English a lot with others including other people and teachers helps us improve our English skills.
Of course, one-to-one teaching helps us improve our English skills, but a lot more students in a class can help us improve our English skills more since there are a lot more conversation topics in a class, a wide variety of expressions and vocabulary we can learn, and we can hear other people's opinions too.
However, if there are too many students in a class, it's difficult to speak out or ask questions.
Also, there isn't much time to speak English in a class or teachers can't focus on each student's speech.
Therefore, at English Plus, our class room size is small - max 4 students in a class.
This small class room size can help our students to communicate more, and our teachers can help our students when necessary.
We feel that this class room size is very effective for our students to improve their English skills.
Since I've personally experienced teaching English at a vocational school, whose class room size was big - 30 students in a class, and at a famous English conversation school, whose class room sizes vary and I taught one-to-one too, 4 students in a class is great and I can recommend.
Actually, we haven't been satisfied with our current teaching style, and we're looking for better ways to teach English from now on too.

English Plusのレッスン受講生にはお伝えしていますが「定期的なレッスン受講」に加えて「毎日の自己学習をすること」が英語力の伸びを考えた上で重要なことだと認識していることもあり、English Plusのレッスンは基本的に１クラス４名までの少人数制・９０分のグループレッスンで行っています。

またレッスン後は、レッスン受講生が無理なく復習等の自己学習を毎日すること、すなわち「英語学習の習慣化」をするために、各レッスン受講生が「無理なく毎日英語学習に取り組める」ような工夫をしています。

この「定期的なレッスン受講」と「自己学習をすること」がEnglish Plusでは大事なことだと思っていますが、今日はもう少しEnglish Plusの特徴をお伝えしていきたいと思います。

いくつか特徴がありますがそのうちの１つが「９０分レッスン」です。

English Plusの基本的なレッスンが９０分なのは、「学習」＋「練習」という要素をしっかりとレッスンに組み込むことができ、実際に使える英語力の習得に最適だと考えるからです。

English Plusのレッスンは、単にテキストを覚えていくようなスタイルではなく、自らの能力（経験や語彙等）を駆使して「自分で英文を一から作り出していく、本物の実力（英語力）を養う」スタイルになります。

この「本物の使える英語力を養う」ためには、時間が必要になりますが、着実に自分の力になっていきます。

このためにEnglish Plusのレッスン内では基本的に、まず必要なポイント(語彙・文法・表現等)を学びます。

そしてそのポイントを使って実際に「話す・聞く・読む・書く」といった練習を行い自分の意思を自由に表現していきます。

この学習＋練習を繰り返しつつ、復習などの自己学習に取り組むことでご自身の英語力につながっていきます。

English Plusの９０分のレッスンを受講された方々からは「９０分があっという間だった」というご感想をよくいただきます。

Today, I'd like to write about one of the features of English Plus.
English Plus is a small, friendly, and fun English school, so we have a family atmosphere, and we can listen to our students' comments directly and support them by providing necessary service in order to help them improve their English skills.
When we know and realize their weakness, we can suggest some effective self-training methods for each of them.
We usually tell our students that "taking lessons regularly" is important, and "doing self-study constantly" is also necessary to improve English skills.
At English Plus, we mainly provide group lessons, which consist of 4 students in a class and lasts 90 minutes.
After the lessons, we usually give our students some homework and most of them try and submit it the next time they take lessons.
Since English Plus' slogan is "Every day English", most of our students try to study not only on a lesson day but also in their free time.
We feel that studying English has become daily routine for most of our students. (Great job!)
Actually, there are various features of our lessons and self-study support, so I'd like to let you know about one of them.
One of our features is "90-min lessons."
The reason why our lesson is basically 90 minutes is that our students have enough time to learn English, and also they can practice how to use English.
In order to acquire practical English skills, we need to "learn" and "practice."
These two elements are necessary, and 90-min lessons are good to do both of them.
At English Plus, our students don't memorize textbooks but they use their own ability, such as their experience, their English knowledge and so on, and communicate with others.
It takes us some time to improve real English ability, but if we don't give up, we can definitely improve our English ability.
In our lessons, our students learn some lesson targets, such as vocabulary, grammar, expressions, pronunciation and so on, and then they practice English by speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Since our students seem to enjoy our lessons, almost all of our students say that "90 minutes is short."
We haven't been satisfied with our current teaching style, and we're looking for better ways to teach English from now on too.

本日は“東京・田町の英語学校English Plusの特徴 ～ レッスンの継続率について（日本語編）”です。

English Plusは小さな英語学校ですので、講師・スタッフ・レッスン受講生との距離が近く、受講生一人一人の英語学習での相談や学習方法の提案などを気軽にしていただくことができます。

また、小さな学校ですので講師が各個人の英語力の強み・弱み、英語学習の取り組み等も把握できる環境です。

基本的にレッスンは１クラス４名までの少人数制、９０分のグループレッスンで行っています。

レッスンの受講は頻度（週１回もしくは週２回）および、レッスンの期間（１か月、３か月、６か月）を選ぶことが可能です。

English Plusでは、各レッスン受講生のお選びいただいた受講期間（１か月・３か月・６か月）の満了が近くなる時期に次回のレッスンのご予定をお伺いしています。

English Plusでのレッスン受講期間を延長する「レッスン継続率」を少し調べてみましたが、２０１１年のEnglish Plusオープン以来「約９割のレッスン受講生がレッスンを継続してくれていること」がわかりました。

大変ありがたいことです。

英語をマスターするには「英語を学習する時間および練習する時間」が必須ですが、少しでもレッスン受講生の英語力アップのサポートができるように今後もスタッフ一同努力を続けていきたいと思います。

Today, I'd like to write about how many times our students renew their contract at English Plus.
English Plus is a small, friendly, and fun English school.
Since our school is small, we have a family atmosphere, and we can listen to our students' comments directly and support them by providing necessary service in order to help them improve their English skills.
When we know and realize their weakness, we can suggest some effective self-training methods for each of them.
Our students usually take a group lesson, which consists of 4 students in a class and lasts 90 minutes.
Our students can choose how often they come to English Plus, and how long they study here.
The length of each student's contract is different, and when the end of their contract is closer, we usually ask them about their plans.
When I had time the other day, I checked how many times each student has renewed his/her contract, and found that about over 90% of our students renewed their contracts at least once and continued studying English at English Plus.
We were really glad with the fact and appreciate those who have come and studied English here.
In order to master English, it needs time and efforts to study and practice English.
We will continue supporting our students by providing good lessons and support from now on too.
