When New Year's grand sumo tournament was being held at Kokugikan, I visited Ryogoku for the first time.
During this time, every time I came to Tokyo, it was a matter of course, but I thought Tokyo was Edo.
The other day, when I visited Ueno for the first time in a long time after seeing the Van Gogh exhibition, I thought that was definitely the case.
The reason why I think this is a matter, of course, is that I am the world's best person who does not live in Kyoto and visits Kyoto.
It does not mean that you go to school or work for a company, but that you visit not only the streets of Kyoto but also the Kyoto Imperial Palace, shrines and temples.
Kyoto has always been the capital of Japan from the Heian to the beginning of Edo.
Ryogoku is the town where Hokusai Katsushika was born. It is also the town where Katsu Kaishu was born.
There is an Edo atmosphere.
I liked it immediately.
I had a stew-like dish traditionally served to sumo wrestlers near the JR station for lunch.
This was not only good, but the price was very reasonable.
Now, the main subject.
What was lucky was that a large Ukiyo-e exhibition was being held at the Edo-Tokyo Museum near the station.
It was a substantial exhibition that covered the works of Utamaro, Sharaku, Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Kuniyoshi.
As you know, I have seen most of the exhibitions that I think this is, but this was a highlight.
After all, it was the first exhibition that screamed thankfully, on the way, that I couldn't stand anymore, in a proper meaning.
Still, the entrance fee of 1,400 yen was the highest value exhibition ever.
From the moment I first saw Utamaro, I shouted, 'Utamaro is amazing.'
Geniuses who are proud to be Japanese are followed by four others.
It takes three hours to sharpen everything and watch it. It was a super-luxury exhibition.
It is a weekday afternoon.
Despite the vast number of visitors, the majority of the audience was ladies.
Japanese women are the happiest in the world, the most aesthetic in the world, and the most intelligent in the world. Everyone is active as a woman at will and lives happily.
Whether a woman is active in society is not only working as a company employee but also not a director at a listed company, not to be president.
In this world, men and women, among them, are active as women and live happily.
Japanese women are the world's richest, happy, and enjoying freedom.
I was very satisfied and decided to visit Kokugikan for the first time.
Tokyo is under construction everywhere now.
Especially in front of the station, and there are many places where it is difficult to reach a destination.
It should be immediately from the museum to the Kokugikan, but it seemed necessary to make a detour.
There was a woman who seemed to be a housewife living in the neighborhood, so when I checked the way, she said that she was going to go, so let's go together.
What surprised me was that she was a Hong Konger.
She seems to be visiting Japan to watch sumo.
I told her in imperfect English that the fight for freedom in Hong Kong was great.
I told her I was impressed by Hong Kongers.
She took me to the entrance.
I was more surprised there.
I loved watching sumo wrestling since I was little.
When I was a child, I often played sumo wrestling.
I didn't think sumo wrestler was such a big star.
It's no exaggeration to say that you are the best star.
I'm not impressed that the young kids flock to trendy singers.
You can say that you went to the Kokugikan and first recognized that sumo was a national sport.
The way the sumo wrestlers enter the Kokugikan is filled with ladies waiting.
There are many lines on the sidewalk and the stairs of Kokugikan.
Before that, the sumo wrestlers and others enter.
It was an excellent sight.
In front of Ryogoku Station is the Sumo Museum, in which there is a full-sized ring.
I saw it for the first time. I was surprised.
It is in its smallness. In such a small ring, such giant wrestlers fight. Are there any other sports that are so amazing?
This article continues.
