本質

2010-09-13 | *pink diary*
オーランドの病院視察に誘ってくださった先生が主催している講習会に参加した。
そこでの講習会での出来事は言わないという約束があるので、そこでの出来事は書けないのだけど、
そこで学んだことを書き留めておきたいと思う。
講習会に参加した人の本当の年齢も名前も職業も知らない。
その人の「本質」と知り合うのだ。
人見知りだけど、私はいつもがんばってきた。
もちろん、講習会でも先生の期待があるのでがんばった笑
私たちは、
①今までの自分の歩いてきた道とはいっさい関係のない
②呼んでいる人が気持ちのいい
③横文字である
ニックネームをつけた。
憧れのスターたちの名前や自分の好きな形容詞など、思い思いに名をつける。
思い思いといっても先生の審査を通らなくてはいけないのだが笑
年齢も性別も今まで歩んできた道も関係なく、
その人たちと交流する。
私も自分が医学生ということをある時点まで言っていなかった。
『お互いのいいところを褒める』
そういう機会が非常に多いかったのだが、
出会って1時間も経っていない相手を褒めるなんてできるだろうか？
と思っていた。
しかも“本質”を褒めようというのだ。
例えば、
「そのお洋服ステキですね」
ではなく
「そのお洋服を選んだあなたの趣味がステキですね」
と褒める。
これが“相手の本質”を褒めるということなのだ。
え、無理と思う必要はない。
が、意外とできるものなのだ。
もちろん、知らないから自分が知ってる限りの中で見つけようとする。
そして、人の言動は一つ一つすべてにその人の人となりが表れているのだと認識する。
名前、年齢、出身校、所属、職業、肩書きなどなど
普段の自己紹介で当たり前になっている項目が実は一番いらない項目なんだと思った。
そんなのはその人の殻にすぎないのだ。
殻では何も判断できない。
むしろ殻なんて邪魔なだけだ。
それでも私たちはその殻をまとって生きている。
その殻の錯覚にとらわれず、人の本質を見ていくこと。
そして、それをrespectし、褒めること。
ちょっとずつでいいから、実践していきたいと思った。
