Anti-lock braking system and traction control systems are used in your Grand Prix ABS wheel speed sensor and control wheel spin valve assembly. The ADD9000A to monitor wheel speed sensors, to reduce it is detected is close to lock the brake pressure on the wheel. Traction control systems monitor the same wheel speed sensor, the brake pressure for more than any wheel acceleration feeling. These systems are the vehicle computer diagnostic functions through the use of scan tools and automotive diagnostics.
1
Check the tires for proper wheel size and check the fluid level of the master cylinder. Improper tire size, such as two different dimensions, causes the wheels to turn at different speeds, and may be set to a false code, the computer detects this as a potential wheel lock. Low fluid level in the brake master cylinder, will lead off, to prevent air from entering the brake system ABS and traction control system.
2
Turn off the ignition switch and the scan tool connector into the vehicle ADD510 Infrared Thermometer. With instrument steering column near the OBD-II diagnostic connector is located in the driver's side of Grand Prix. According to the instructions provided with the scan tool, the ignition key and retrieve trouble codes. In most cases, you will select the "read code" from the menu on the screen, or press the "read" button, the previous scan tool to get the code. If the wheel speed sensor fault code indicates or step 5, if the code indicates a solenoid valve failure, go to step 2.
3
Select the "data" from the menu on the screen to scroll through the list until the wheel speed sensor data is displayed on the screen. Test drive the car, while monitoring wheel speed signal, fault code scanning tools. If the wheel speed signal is different from the other wheel speed signals, testing the resistance of the sensor.
4
Unplug the failure of the wheel speed sensor, the wheels of each wheel with the back of the bearing and ADD71 of a sensor located in the Grand Prix and tested using the digital volt / ohm meter, set to read the resistance of the resistor. A good wheel speed sensor resistance to be1k of ohms + / - 10%. Replace the sensor if the meter shows 0 ohms, infinite ohms, or resistance 1k ohm + / - 10%.
5
Check the fuse fuse box, dashboard and under the hood. ABS and traction control systems are marked on the the fuse body fuse holder. Replacement of any faulty fuse, and then proceed with the test. Unplug the regulating valve assembly is located in the driver's side of the Noise Finder ADD3500 near the master cylinder to test the resistance of the solenoid valve to use your digital voltage / ohm meter. The replacement regulator valve assembly, if the 0-ohm resistor infinity, are assembled.
