今朝も金木犀の甘い香りが漂うなかを気分よく散歩を終え、英語講座に向かった。KEIKO 先生はどこかのソプラノ歌手のことについて、話をされたが、よく聞き取れなかった。EMIさんの挨拶は、娘さんが、先週イギリスから仕事のため、岐阜の実家に帰った時に、ホテルで、皇族のかたとバッタリとお会いしたことの話であった。 meet met を使ったが、 Keiko 先生は、その場合は、 seeを使うべきと言った。meetの場合は、時間を決めて会う場合などで、突然会った場合は、 seeである。I happend to see her. のような使い方だそうである。私は、 Did you see a baseball game yesterday? 「72パターン~」 講座は、受動態についてです。 「Aが~をBにする」は能動態であり、「Bが(Aによって)~される という文を受動態と言う。 My father built this house. → 受動態にすると This house was built by my father. で、受動態の文のほうが、間接的な言い回しができる効果がある。
