Good morning and I appreciate your visit!
Yesterday, after I finished teaching in Tokyo, I went to Yurigaoka, Kawasaki to have lunch.
The reason why I visited Yurigaoka is that there is a nice restaurant "Tamari" whose owner I met at a business seminar in Kawasaki last year
The food I had was "genshi-jin no niku, which means the meat which primitive people ate" was tasty and the coffee, the baked apple, and the mashed sweet potato I had after lunch for dessert were excellent too!!
The dishes and cups used at the restaurant are all made by the owner, so everything is unique.
When you have a chance to visit Yurigaoka, please try once!

After having lunch, I went to Kawasaki in order to take a business consultation with Mr. Koji Takeuchi, who is a small and medium enterprise management consultant.
There were several important tips for my English school to launch I learned from the consultation.
Some of the tips were hiring good staff members, making a more attractive advertisement, financial advice and so on.
Thanks to his help, I was able to get a better idea about the advertisement.

The situation in Japan is still unpredictable, but I will do what I can do and hopefully, what I’m doing will contribute to Japan and the world.

本日は“百合ヶ丘でのおいしいランチと英語学校創業への準備 - ビジネスコンサルティング受講”です。

昨日、英語レッスン終了後、川崎・百合ヶ丘にある“たまり”さんというアトリエカフェへランチに行ってきました。

“たまり”さんでは“原始人の肉”をいただきました。

お料理は小鉢に至るまですべて創意工夫されており、とてもおいしくいただくことができました。

また、コーヒー・デザート（手づくりの焼きりんご・スイートポテト）もとてもおいしかったです。

お皿にいたるまでオーナーの手作りで、一度は行く価値ありですので、百合ヶ丘の近くに来た際には是非！

おいしい昼食をとった後は、川崎で英語学校創業のためのコンサルティングを受講してきました。

コンサルタントは中小企業診断士である竹内幸次先生にお願いしました。

今回は英語学校創業のための準備、特に・・・

・スタッフの募集の仕方
・チラシ広告の見せ方
などに関してアドバイスをいただきました。

アドバイスをいただいたお陰で、さらに良いチラシ広告にすることができそうです！

Yesterday, after I taught a couple of lessons, I went to Yurigaoka in order to participate in a “Kawasaki kigyokazyuku's New Year Party.”

That party was for those who attended the business seminar in Kawasaki held in 2010 & 2009.
It was held in “Tamari” whose owner attended the Kawasaki’s business seminar last year.
At Tamari, I had a really good time because the food & drink were excellent and the stories I had with everyone were very informative!!
Even some of the stories reminded me of Toronto and my ex-company though.

Good morning!
How are you enjoying this long weekend?
Yesterday, I walked and checked some shopping streets, called shotengai, in Kawasaki.
Also, I visited a few real estate agencies and asked for some information about vacant properties in the area.
Actually, my request of property - for example, 50㎡, 1st floor, not far from the nearest station and so on, is a very popular request and everyone wants to get.
So, the competition is very severe, and the information I got was not so positive, but I’ll not give up trying to find the best one for me!
After checking some shopping streets, I met my friends who I met in the business seminar in Kawasaki last year, and talked about each other’s business.
It was worth meeting them and talking about each one’s progress!
I hope I can tell them better news about my English school business next time!!

本日は“英語学校起業に向けた川崎市商店街チェックの旅と起業家仲間との集い”です。

昨日、川崎市の商店街を歩いて見てきました。

また、ついでに川崎の不動産屋さんにも立ち寄り、空いている物件の情報を聞くことができました。

自分の希望の条件（例えば、50㎡以上の１階で、駅からそれほど遠くではない、など）はとても人気の条件で、物件を探している皆さんが欲しい条件のようで、正直その川崎のエリアでは厳しい、というお話を聞くことができました。

が、あきらめることなく、自分にぴったりの物件を探したいと思います！！

商店街をチェックした後、昨年の川崎の商人デビュー塾（起業家セミナー）で知り合った方たちとお会いし、お互いの起業の進み具合などを話しあうことができました！！

次回またお会いする時に良いお知らせができるよう、本日も前向きに一歩前進したいと思います！！

Good morning!!
Yesterday, I went to the city hall of Kawasaki in order to submit a form to apply for a subsidy.
This subsidy is for someone who wants to launch a new business in the shopping street, called "Shotengai", in Kawasaki.

Prepaing for this application form didn't take as much time as it did for the Kawasaki Business audition.
Actually, it was a happy surprise to see myself enjoying working on the application form and preparing for the other forms this time!!

I haven't decided for sure where I'll have my own English school, however, thanks for the help by many people I met through the seminars in Kawasaki, I'm leaning towards Kawasaki now.
From now on, I should spend my time more wisely to prepare for my presentation from next week!!
I just need to relax and enjoy doing my best!!

Yesterday, finally I finished making my business plan to participate in the business plan competition in Kawasaki!

Though it took quite long to complete my business plan because I’d changed and checked it again and again, I’m satisfied with it!!
It’s finally over now that I have to prepare for the slide show for the next step "presentation"!!
After submitting my business plan, I met some friends, who I met in the business seminar in Kawasaki, to talk about how each person’s business idea is going!
I was glad to hear that some people have been taking the next step!!
Their story made me think I’ll take a step forward toward my dream more!!

変更ならびにチェックを何度もしたため、かなり時間がかかってしまいましたが、満足のいく出来に仕上がったと思います。

昨夜、ビジネスプランを提出した後、昨年の川崎のビジネスセミナーで出会った方々とお会いし、その後のビジネスの進展を話すことができる機会がありました！
何名かの人は次のステップへ向けて着々と準備をされているようで、こちらもさらに気合いが入りました！！

Since I started taking two business seminars in Kawasaki last year, I’ve been thinking about submitting my business plan in the business plan competition held in Kawasaki.
This business plan competition called "Kawasaki kigyoka (=entrepreneur) audition" is held 6 times annually, and whoever has new business plans can join!!

There are lots of reasons why I’d like to try this "Kawasaki kigyoka (=entrepreneur) audition", but the main purpose is that "I want to get my business plan evaluated objectively by some professionals."
As far as I take part in the competition, I will try my best and try to get the best result!!
Anyway, I'll just prepare for the best from now on!!

New Year's eve!!
I know you are busy but thank you for taking some time to check out this blog!!
Since today’s New Year’s eve, in other words the end of the year, I’d like to write about TOP 5 events in 2010.
I’m not sure if you know about Billboard Top 40 countdown, but if you know that, you can enjoy this blog more with your imaginary background music, anyway…No. 1 - No.5 in 2010!!
No. 5: I got TOEIC 970 in July, and this is 10 points up compared with the last year’s result. Next year, I’ll try to achieve the perfect score, 990!!
No. 4: I started teaching elementary school student and currently I’m working on a curriculum for elementary school student.
No.3: Some students’ TOEIC scores went up by 140, 110!!
No. 2: I started this blog and twitter, and thank you for all who check this blog!!
No.1: My goal to establish my English school in 2011 is clear after attending 2 business seminars, and I met a lot of wonderful people!!
I can’t predict what is going to happen to me in 2011; however, I’ll make efforts to do my best to make my dream come true in 2011!!

２０１０年の大晦日です。

本日は“2010年を振り返って英語講師としてのTOP ５ カウントダウン”です。

アメリカにBillboard Top 40 countdownというテレビ番組がありますが、ご存じの方は、Billboard Top 40のBGMを想像しながらこのブログを読んでいただけるとさらに楽しめると思います。

Anyway, 英語講師として２０１０年を振り返ってのTOP5カウントダウンです。

No.5: ７月に受験したTOEICで前年同時期に受験したスコアより１０点高い９７０点を取得したこと。（来年は９９０点目指します！！）

No.4: 小学生を教えるようになったこと。現在、来年の英語学校設立のための“小学生用カリキュラム”を作成中

No.3: TOEIC受講中の生徒の方のスコアが劇的にアップ！！（１４０点アップや１１０点アップ！！）

No.2: ブログとツイッターを始めたこと。Thank you for all who check this blog!!

No.1: 川崎での２つのビジネスセミナーの受講を通し、ユニークでオンリーワン＋No.1の英語学校設立のプランが明確になってきたこと。また、セミナーなどを通していろいろなたくさんの方と知り合えたこと

月並みな言葉になってしまいますが、ブログを読んでくださっている皆様、現在レッスンを受講していただいている一人ひとりの生徒の皆様、セミナーを通して知り合った皆様、川崎市のセミナー開催に関わっているスタッフの皆様、中小企業診断士の竹内先生、友人・家族、一人ひとりに、とても感謝しております。

Yesterday, I went to Kawasaki to get Mr. Koji Takeuchi, who was a lecturer of Kawasaki business seminar I attended from this Sep to Nov, to take a consultation with my English school's business plan.

The main subject I asked him about was about how to make my English school business successful!
He gave me some advice, for instance…
- I should make my homepage right now!
- I ought to keep looking for the best place!
- I need to think about how to advertise my lessons & products!
and so on…
I’ve learned a lot and I realized that I still have a lot of things to do!!
First, I will make my homepage and put it on the web, and when I make it, I will let everyone know about it on this blog!

昨日は川崎市産業振興会館において、川崎起業家塾でもお世話になりました 竹内幸次先生、ならびに財団の長島さんに“英語学校起業に関するコンサルティング”をしていただきました。

いろいろなお話をいただきましたが、主なポイントとしましては“いかに英語学校を成功させるか”ということでした。

お話の中で、今から準備しておく事柄（例えば、ホームページの準備・英語学校設立のベストの場所の選定・広告の仕方など）を聞くことができました。

たくさんのことを聞き、学んだので、今後はしっかり行動に移していきたいと思います。

まずは英語学校のホームページ作成からです！！
少しずつでも、でき上がり次第、このブログでお知らせしていきたいと思いますので、ホームページのチェックのほうもよろしくお願いいたします。

The other day, I had a chance to visit some shops and retailers in Sagamihara-city to listen to their business experiences.
First, I visited a coffee bean shop "Emilu" which Mr. Koji Takeuchi, who is a lecturer at the seminar I attended in Kawasaki, recommended.
The coffee bean shop's manager, Mr. Yoshida, was a really nice person and he took the trouble to take some time and teach me how to make good coffee, how to choose good coffee beans, and other useful tips about business.
I felt it was really worth going there and talking with him; moreover, after I told him about my English school plan, he introduced his friend’s café, which has experienced having English conversation lessons in the café.
I was able to get some useful information there too thanks to Mr. Suzuki, who is an owner of the café "Yokoyamadai Coffee Kan".
Overall, they gave me a lot of positive energy!!
From now, I’ll do what I need to do simply to make my English successful!!

先日、相模原市の何件かのお店に行き、いろいろなお話を伺う機会がありました。

最初に、（川崎市で受講しておりました起業セミナーの講師である中小企業診断士の）竹内幸次先生が紹介してくださいました、“絵美衣留（えみいる）”さんと言うコーヒーの生豆を扱っているお店をお伺いしました。

店主の吉田さんはとても笑顔が素敵で、とても気さくな良い方でした。
吉田さんは、コーヒーのおいしい淹れ方、コーヒー豆の選び方、ビジネスについてのアドバイスなども教えてくれました。

また、吉田さんと話している時、私の英語学校のビジネスプランを話す機会があり、英会話カフェとしてビジネスをしていたこともある、吉田さんの友人を紹介してくださりました。

紹介いただきました“横山台珈琲館”では以前、英語のレッスンをカフェをしていた貴重なお話をマスターの鈴木さんから聞くことができました。

いろいろな方の経験と話をしっかりと参考にしながら、本日も“ユニークでオンリーワン＋No.1の英語学校”の設立を目指して前向きに前進です！！

Hi, good morning, and thank you for checking out my blog!!
At this time of a year in Japan, one Chinese character that represents the year is announced.
This years's Chinese character was "暑" that means "hot".
(FYI: Last year's one was "新" that means "new")


Now it's winter, and I tend to forget how hot this summer was, however, when I saw this Chinese character "暑", it just reminded me the hot summer!!
Anyway, today, I'd like to choose an English vocabulary word that represents my 2010!!
The word I'd like to choose for myself is...

"challenge"

It's because...
"I started this blog."
"It was my first time to attend some business seminars and I was able to learn something very important to launch my own English school."
"I started to teach elementary school student", and so on.
I personally think "challenge" really represents my 2010 as an English vocabulary word, and I'm glad to choose it.
What vocabulary word would you personally choose?

本日は“あなたの今年１年を英単語１つで表すと？”です。

この時期になりますと、日本では“今年の漢字”が発表されます。

今年の漢字は“暑”でした。（ちなみに昨年の漢字は“新”でした）
とても暑い夏だったことや、暑い出来事がたくさんありましたので、今年の漢字“暑”には納得です。

“漢字一字”で今年を表すことができるなら、“英単語一つ”で表すことも可能と考え、英語講師として自分の２０１０年を表す一字を選びました。

その英単語が "challenge" （挑戦）です。

理由はいろいろとありますが、主に・・・
“ブログを始めたこと”
“起業セミナーに参加し、英語学校起業に関していろいろと学べたこと”
“小学生を教え始めたこと”などです。

今年ほど "challenge" という英単語が、自分を表現する年は今までにありませんでしたので、いろいろなことに "challenge" ができたという点では、個人的にとても良い年だったと思います！！
