Good morning and I really appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small language school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, let's learn about some basic conversational expressions in English.
English Plus is a small English language school for both adults and kids.
About kids lessons, there are two kids' courses available; one is for "Junior high school students", and the other is for "Elementary school students."
The lesson for elementary school students is now for over 6 years old (more than elementary school grade 1) and they can learn some basic phonics, vocabulary, grammar, and some basic conversational expressions.
The aim of this kids course is that "we would like our students to master some basic English skills."
In the lesson, our students can learn a lot of vocabulary and expressions, and today let's learn about some basic conversational expressions.
Today, let's learn some basic greetings which are usually used with family and friends.
Now, let's try some quiz - please read the following Japanese & change each word into English. (Answers are below.)

1. A:「おはよう、おかあさん」B:「おはよう」
2. A:「また、あした」B:「さようなら」

After checking the answers in English, let's try to read them aloud.

本日のブログは“２０２４年１月のEnglish Plus Friends キャンペーン（お友達紹介キャンペーン）のお知らせ（日本語編）”です。

English Plus（英語学校）では今年も「English Plus Friends（お友達紹介）キャンペーン」を実施しています。

現在レッスン受講中の受講生が、ご友人・知人・同僚・ご家族様などをEnglish Plus（英語学校）に紹介いただき、レッスン受講のお申込をしていただきますと「紹介していただいた受講生の方」および「新しくレッスンを受講される方」両方に様々な特典をご用意しております。

Today, I'd like to let you know about English Plus' current promotion.
We're holding a special promotion at our English school right now.
The promotion is called "English Plus Friends campaign."
The feature of this promotion is if a current student invites his/her friend, co-worker, family members, and so on, to join English Plus, we will give both of them some special gifts, such as English Plus' special tickets and so on.
Also, if two friends or two family members start learning English together at the same time, this promotion will apply too.
This promotion has no time limit so far; however, without notice, we might finish it in the future.

Good morning, and thank you so much for stopping by English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Tomorrow is the New Year's eve, and I'd like to look back on this year as an English instructor at English Plus.
A lot of things have happened here at English Plus in 2023 too.
Since pandemic has become almost over this year so we were able to hold our annual Christmas party for the first time in four years.
Thanks to a lot of people's support, we were able to finish our business safely this year too.
Here are some things that we've done at English Plus this year.
For instance:
・We were able to celebrate 12th year anniversary on Oct 1st
・Elementary school grade 1 students can take lessons now
・Christmas party was held for the first time in 4 years
・Some students went to Canada to experience summer camp program
・Some junior high school students passed Eiken Grade Pre2 & Grade3
・Some students got over 750 in the TOEIC exam
From my point of view as an English instructor, almost all of our students' English skills have improved continuously this year too! (Proud of each of you!)
We really thank every one of English Plus' students, supporters, staff members, friends, and family.
We'll keep making efforts to provide better English lessons, support, and service at English Plus next year too.

Today, let's practice English from English Plus' lessons.
At English Plus, we encourage our students to try to speak English a lot especially during lessons.
Once in a while, they make some mistakes, but they really try hard and try to express what they want to say in their own words. (Great Job!)
Through the lessons at English Plus, I realized there are some mistakes our students often make, so today let's review not to make the same mistake again.
Now, let's find errors from our lessons during the first week of February in 2023 below.

1. It’s most coldest city that I've ever visited.
2. I made soup for me and drank it.
3. Friends are important for myself.

Let's improve English skills little by little!

Today, I'd like to announce "English Plus' twelfth year anniversary".
English Plus opened its door in Shibaura, Tamachi, Tokyo 12 years ago, October 1st, 2011.
Thanks to a lot of people's support, English Plus will be able to turn twelve years old tomorrow.
We really appreciate every one of you, who supports us from the bottom of our heart.
Our special thanks are especially for our students, friends, family, staff members, and some of you who support us.
Thanks to each and every one one of you.
Looking back about these twelve years, a lot of words have come to my mind.
One word can't describe these twelve years: however, the first word which came to mind this year was "gratitude."
A lot of things have happened these 12 years, and especially these recent years because of COVID-19 pandemic; however, we've been able to continue our business especially thanks to every one of our students.
Thank you very much.
Words are not enough to express how we appreciate each of you, so instead of words of appreciation, we'll continue offering better and more practical English lessons and helpful support as well as more fun activities, and friendly environment to study English here at English Plus.
We really thank every one of you, especially our students & customers, and we'll make efforts from now on too.

本日のブログは“English Plusレッスン受講生のレッスンでこれが言いたかった「知人」の英語表現 ２０２３年５月２週のレッスンから”です。

東京・田町の英語学校English Plusではレッスン受講生の「しっかりとした基礎的な英語力を身につける」ことに注力しています。

そのため「ある程度の英語学習時間および努力」が必要になることをレッスン受講生にはお伝えしていますが、また同時に「英語学習を無理なく習慣化」する方法もお伝えし、お一人お一人無理のない範囲で取り組んでもらっています。

English Plusではレッスン受講生に「定期的なレッスン受講」と共に「毎日の自己学習」を提案していますが、レッスンの最中や自己学習に取り組む中で「疑問点」や「こんなことが言いたかった」ということをレッスン受講生からお聞きします。

今日は実際のレッスンの中から、レッスン受講生が言いたかった一言を学習していきたいと思います。

今日の英語でこれが言いたかったは「知人」です。

この週の英会話レッスンでは様々なトピックについての会話が繰り広げられましたが、その中で「知人」という単語が出てきました。

今日はこの「知人」の英単語および実際のレッスンの中で出てきた「何人の知人および友人がいますか？」という英文を考えてみましょう。

少し考えた上で、口から英語が出てくるように、毎日少しずつ基礎英語力を上げていきましょう。（答えの一例は当ブログの下記にありますのでよろしければご確認ください。また確認後は口から出す音読トレーニングをしましょう。）

English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Tomorrow is the New Year's eve, and I'd like to look back on this year as an English instructor at English Plus.
A lot of things have happened here at English Plus in 2022.
The impact of COVID-19 pandemic was still remaining this year so we couldn't hold many activities and events, such as annual Christmas party.
However, we were able to finish our business safely this year thanks to a lot of people's support, and I'd like to write about what we've done at English Plus.
For instance:
・We were able to celebrate 11th year anniversary on Oct 1st
・We started a new service for Day care (Nursery School) and Kindergarten
・We will be on TV tomorrow, Dec 31 2022
・Some English Plus original items have been added, such as original bag and stationery goods
・Instead of Christmas Party, we held a month long "Christmas Month" event
・Zoom online lesson for our current students is available
・Zoon school information session is also available
・Some junior high school students passed Eiken Grade Pre2 & Grade3
From my point of view as an English instructor, most of our students' English skills have improved continuously this year too! (Great job!)
We really thank every one of English Plus' students, supporters, staff members, friends, and family.
We'll keep making efforts to provide better English lessons, support, and service at English Plus next year too.

Today, I'd like to announce "English Plus' eleventh year anniversary".
English Plus opened its door in Shibaura, Tamachi, Tokyo 11 years ago, October 1st, 2011.
Thanks to a lot of people's support, English Plus will be able to turn eleven years old tomorrow.
We really appreciate every one of you who supports us from the bottom of our heart.

Thanks to each and every one one of you.
Looking back about these eleven years, a lot of words have come to my mind, such as lack of sleep, preparation, challenge, fun time, hard time, fulfillment, unpredictable event like COVID-19, many smiles, and so on.
One word can't describe these eleven years: however, the first word which came to mind was "gratitude."
A lot of things have happened these 11 years, especially these recent years because of COVID-19 pandemic; we've been able to manage somehow thanks to every one of our students.
