Today, let's learn some English vocabulary about Christmas.
Tomorrow, December 25th, is Christmas.
Christmas is celebrated not only in western countries but in Japan too.
A lot of children and adults are looking forward to this day, and some of our kids students can't wait for this day to come.
During this Christmas season at English Plus, we decorated the inside of our facility with Christmas ornaments.
Since Christmas is tomorrow, let's learn some English vocabulary related to Christmas.
For example...

・クリスマスの装飾 = Christmas ornament
・クリスマスのリース = Christmas wreath
・クリスマスの木 = Christmas tree
・煙突 ＝ chimney
・暖炉 = fireplace
・教会 = church
・ろうそく = candle
・杖の形のキャンディ = candy cane

When you have a chance to see one of the objects above, try to say it in English in your mind.
Let's learn and improve English every day.

English Plus is a small language school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, let's learn about weather in English.
English Plus is a small English language school for both adults and kids.
There are two kids' courses available; one is for "Junior high school students", and the other is for "Elementary school students."
The lesson for elementary school students is for over 9 years old (more than elementary school grade 3) and they can learn some basic phonics and vocabulary and grammar.
The aim of this kids course is that "we would like our students to master some basic English skills."
In the lesson, our students can learn a lot of vocabulary and expressions, and today let's learn some basic vocabulary about school facility.
Now, let's try some quiz - please translate Japanese into English. (Answers are below.)

1. 教室
2. 図書室
3. 音楽室
4. 体育館
5. 校庭

After mastering the vocabulary, let's try to make sentences, such as "I will go to the..."

Good morning and I really appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small English school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' promotional movie about COVID-19.
Since coronavirus (COVID-19) became a major problem all over the world this year, everyone of us has realized how important washing hands is.
Actually, through the radio, internet, we can see a lot of information about COVID-19 and how to protect ourselves from the virus.
At English Plus, we ask all the visitors including our staff and students to wash hands soon after they visit us at English Plus.
Also, we ask them to wear masks inside our facility and use hand sanitizer before getting drink at English Plus.
To make hand washing more effectively, one of our staff members, who has Public Health Nurse, Registered Nurse, and Midwife license, gave us some tips about how to protect ourselves from any infectious disease and we've made four promotional movies about COVID-19 so far.
We've uploaded all of them on YouTube, and one of them, which is our latest one, got a link from Cabinet Secretariat about COVID-19's latest information.

Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' latest activity about infection prevention.
As of today, we can see and hear a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Actually, on March 11th 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic, and Japanese government declared the state of emergency about COVID-19 on April 8th 2020.
Though the state of emergency was lifted on May 25th, the number of infected patients has been increasing again since then.
In an effort to prevent and minimize the spread of any infectious disease including COVID-19, English Plus has made "infection prevention policy."
For instance,
1. The staff wash hands regularly
2. The staff try to stay healthy, but when their condition is not good, they stay at home
3. The staff wear face masks as a precautionary measure when necessary
4. The staff and students use hand sanitizer when necessary, especially before getting any beverages
5. Disinfectants are regularly used during cleaning, especially in locations frequented by large numbers of people, such as desks, chairs, and so on.
6. The staff ventilates the facility regularly
7. During the lessons, we try to keep distance
and so on.
In addition to prevent the spread of infectious disease, we have got "Tokyo's Kansen-Boshi Tettei Sengen Sticker" (A sticker by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to prove that the shop prevents the spread of infection.)
In order to prevent the spread any infectious disease to protect our students and staff, we'll do what we should do to make a safe environment to study English from now on too.

Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' latest promotional movie.
Since coronavirus (COVID-19) became a major problem all over the world this year, everyone of us has realized how important washing hands is.
At English Plus, we ask all the visitors including our staff and students to wash hands soon after they visit us at English Plus.
Also, we ask them to wear masks inside our facility and use hand sanitizer before getting drink at English Plus.
To make hand washing more effectively, one of our staff members, who has Public Health Nurse, Registered Nurse, and Midwife license, gave us some tips about how to wash hands and we've made and uploaded a movie.
Also, in order to use hand sanitizer more effectively, we've made another movie and uploaded it on YouTube.
Plus, we've created another movie about preventing infectious disease, such as COVID-19 and flu.
In order to start our business from June, we've made the latest movie about how to protect ourselves from infectious disease, such as COVID-19.

Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' infection prevention policy.
These days, through the internet including SNS, TV, radio and so on, we can hear or see a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In an effort to prevent and minimize the spread of any infectious disease including COVID-19, English Plus has made "infection prevention policy" and today I'd like to announce it.

In consideration of the health of both our students, customers and staff,...

Good morning and thank you for your time to read this blog!
Today, I'd like to write about yesterday's event.
Last Friday, I went to the health center in Minato Ward to submit some forms to run my English environment cafe and yesterday a person, who checks whether the facility and environment are good enough to run a cafe, visited and checked my English environment cafe.
The check was quite brief and he gave me the green light!
So, I can get a permission to start my English environment cafe on Sep 30th.
This means it's just in time for my English school to open!!
Before I get the permission, I'll prepare more for the cafe too!!

おはようございます。英語講師のarataです。

本日は“英語環境カフェ営業のための施設チェック”です。

先週の金曜日、港区の保健所へ英語環境カフェ営業のための許可申請書類を提出しに行ってきました。

そして昨日、施設をチェックする保健所の方に来ていただき、自分の英語環境カフェの施設・環境が問題ないかチェックしてもらいました。

施設のチェックは問題なく終わり、担当者の方からOKサインをいただくことができました。

休みの関係で飲食店営業許可書が発行されるのが９月３０日になってしまう、とのことですが、１０月１日オープンには間に合うので少し安心しました。

が、まだまだ準備する点も多いので少しずつ準備を進めていきたいと思います！
