Today, I'd like to announce English Plus' special event in October, 2021.
Thanks to every one of your support, English Plus was able to celebrate its 10th birthday on October 1st this year.
We thank a lot of people's support, and words aren't enough to describe how much we appreciate everyone of your support.
Therefore, we're holding a special campaign, and at the same time, we're holding a special event only in October for not only our current students but also new comers.
We're holding a weekly event to compete against each class during the month of October.

Rise and shine! I truly appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to announce "English Plus' tenth year anniversary".
English Plus opened its door in Shibaura, Tamachi, Tokyo 10 years ago, October 1st, 2011.
Thanks to a lot of people's support, English Plus will be able to turn ten years old tomorrow.
We really appreciate every one of you who supports us from the bottom of our heart.
Especially, our special thanks are for our students, friends, family, staff members, and some of you who support us.
Thanks to each and every one one of you.
Looking back about this decade, a lot of words have come to my mind, such as lack of sleep, preparation, challenge, fun time, hard time, fulfillment, unpredictable thing, and so on.
One word can't describe these ten years: however, the first word which came to mind was "gratitude."
A lot of things have happened these 10 years, especially these two years because of COVID-19; we've been able to manage somehow thanks to every one of our students.
Thank you very much.
Words are not enough to express how we appreciate you, so instead of words of appreciation, we'll continue offering better and more practical English lessons and helpful support as well as more fun activities, and friendly environment to study English here at English Plus.
We really thank every one of you, especially our students & customers, and we'll make efforts from now on too.

Today, I'd like to introduce English Plus' latest original short YouTube movies for studying English.
As English Plus, we've uploaded some original movies on YouTube, and from this June, we began our new project "YouTube Shorts."
YouTube Shorts movies mean short films, which is within a minute, and we intend to use this "Shorts" for English learners to study English regularly.
We started uploading the first short movie "the name of animals" in June, 2021.
Since then, we've uploaded twenty three short movies so far.
It takes only 40 seconds to study English, so please try when you have time.
There are now two series of 40-second challenge.
With the latest series, you can try the challenge together and practice English too, so please check it out.
We'll try to continue uploading some shorts movies from now on, so please follow us on YouTube.

おはようございます。東京都港区田町の英語学校English Plus英語講師のarataです。

English Plusでは、小学生から大人まで『使える基礎英語力』をしっかり・楽しく・着実に身につける「実用的な英語レッスン」を提供しています。

しっかり・楽しく・着実に基礎英語力を身につけるためにEnglish Plusでは「４名までの完全少人数制」「９０分レッスン（キッズ６０分レッスン）」「レッスン内での英語の間違い・質問大歓迎！」「初心者でも安心して受講できる」環境を整えており、また「自己学習サポート」を提供しています。


本日のブログは“ビジネスでのオンラインミーティングでも使える「話の途中で申し訳ないのですが」と言いたい時に使える英語表現（日本語編）”です。

ビジネスの場で会議（ミーティング）に参加する機会がある方は、ブログをお読みくださる方々の中でもいらっしゃるかと思います。

新型コロナウイルスの蔓延によるテレワーク等で、自宅からオンラインミーティングに参加する機会も今日では増えている状況かもしれません。

業種や仕事によって、様々な用語や表現が使われていると思いますが、日本語・英語問わず、会議中では「人の話の途中で何かを言いたい」時もあるかと思います。

今日はそのような状況で使える英語でのひとこと「話の途中で申し訳ないのですが」と言いたい時の英語表現を紹介したいと思います。

・I'm sorry, could I interrupt you for a moment?（申し訳ないのですが、話の途中で割り込んでもいいですか？）

・Sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to comment on that. （話の途中で申し訳ないのですが、その点についてコメントさせてください）

英語でのオンラインミーティング等、会議や会話の中で使う機会があれば状況に応じて使ってみましょう。

Good morning and thank you so much for your visit to English Plus blog!


Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' last week's activity.
Last Saturday, August 4th, we held "Pronunciation Clinic" and "English Game Night."
It was our first time to try two activities on the same day, and it was our first time to hold both activities at English Plus.
Even though it was our first challenge, thanks to all the participants help, both activities went smoothly and became quite successful.
In the "Pronunciation Clinic", our instructor Haruka gave a lecture about Phonics, and all the attendees practiced pronunciation.
This time, the main focus was "Vowel sound (a,e,i,o,u)" and all of their voice became gradually louder as the lecture went on.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the practicing pronunciation!
After the pronunciation clinic activity, there was another one called "English Game Night."
We played an English game called "Apple to Apple" while eating and drinking.
Everybody said the game was fun and wanted to play more.
Again, thanks to all the attendees, this activity became another English Plus' successful activity!
After this summer vacation, we're thinking about holding some other activities this year too.
Once we've decided an activity, we'll let you know on this blog, English Plus' website, and Facebook.

Good morning and I appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to introduce our new TOEIC exam course.
At English Plus, we have several courses available and one of them is TOEIC test preparation course, which is 90-min a lesson.
In this course, we focus on listening and reading part.
In the listening lessons, our students learn each part (Part 1～4) weekly and try a variety of training in order to acquire good listening skills.
The aim of our listening lessons is for our students to get good TOEIC score in the listening section as well as to have good listening skills, which can be used in real communication situations.
In the reading lessons, they learn some basic grammar points, check their reading speed, learn and try some effective reading technique and so on in order to get good TOEIC score in the reading section.
Even though the main purpose of our reading lessons is to get a good score, we care about our students' future.
We think about after they get good TOEIC score, so our reading lessons include learning some basic English and our students can be use it in business situations.
Through English Plus' lessons, we hope that our students can not only choose correct answers in the TOEIC but also have practical English skills.
Therefore, in our TOEIC course, we do some English training for our students to improve "Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing" to get well-balanced English skills.
For our students' improvement, we're using English Plus' original TOEIC textbooks.
We constantly review and change the contents of them.
Though we check them constantly, we just finished making a major improvement last week.
Because of this improvement, our students can challenge more questions in the lesson, try self-study easily, and so on.
We'll continue providing practical English lessons and supporting to help our students improve their English skills from now on too.

From this Tuesday to Saturday, December 12th - 16th, we're holding an "English Only Week" at our English school.
During this whole week, all of our students must speak only English at our school area.
If they speak Japanese, there is a special penalty waiting for them.
Today I'd like to introduce some English phrases that might be useful during English Only Week.

・「…」のスペルはどうやって書きますか？ ＝ How do you spell "..."?
