Today, let's learn some English expressions from recent news topics of novel Coronavirus.
We've heard or seen a lot about the news reports related to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on TV, the radio, and websites since last spring.
Even though now vaccine is available, there are some variants and quite a few new cases are still reported every day around the world.
This is surely bad news for people all over the world, and I hope the spread of Coronavirus infections will settle down very soon and things will get back to normal as soon as possible.
Under this circumstance, some of us might need to send or might have a chance to send messages in English.
Today, let's learn some expressions about the current situation of Japan.

・These days, the number of new coronavirus cases in Japan is around 4,000 people a day on average.（最近、日本全国でのコロナの新規感染者数は１日平均約４０００人くらいです）
・I hear that the number of novel coronavirus patients in Japan is roughly 4,000 per day on average these days. （最近、日本でのコロナの感染者数は１日平均約４０００人くらいと聞きます）

本日のブログは“新型コロナウイルスに関しての英語表現「日本ではコロナの第４波が近々起こると噂されています」と言いたい時に使える英語表現（日本語編）”です。

昨年の春から、日本のみならずアメリカやカナダのテレビやラジオ、インターネットのニュースでも取り上げられているように、ニュースの話題は専らコロナウイルスですが、ワクチンのよって状況が良くなってきている所もあれば、場所によっては変異株の影響等でまだ状況が悪化している所もあります。

現在、世界中で問題になっているコロナウイルスですが、日本においても世界でも現段階ではいつ収束するかわからない状況です。

このような状況でも、海外の方（ビジネス上でお付き合いのある方、お客様、同僚、友人等）と英語でのメールやメッセージをやり取りをされる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

この状況下で日本の現状を英語で伝えたい方もいらっしゃるかと思いますので、今日は「日本ではコロナの第４波が近々起こると噂されています」と言いたい時の英語表現を学習していきたいと思います。

For instance, we need to wash hands more frequently and more carefully when necessary.
Also, we should wear a face mask when going outside.
Plus, wherever possible especially crowded places, we ought to keep a distance with others.
Even under this situation, we have to run a business every day, and today I'd like to introduce some useful English expressions for food service industry and other service industries.

・Please wait in line at a safe distance. （安全な距離で列にお並びください）
・Please keep a safe distance of at least 1 meter. （少なくとも１メートルの安全な距離を取ってください）
・Please keep a 2-meter distance from others.（他の人と２メートルの距離を取ってください）

昨年３月頃から、メディア（テレビやラジオ、インターネットのニュース等）で頻繁に取り上げられているように、今でもニュースの中心はコロナウイルスですが、依然として国・地域によっては状況が悪化している所も多くあります。

世界中で問題になっているコロナウイルスですが、薬や治療法が確立されていないこともあり、日本でも収束が依然として見えない状況です。

このような状況でも、海外の方（ビジネス上でお付き合いのある方、お客様、同僚、友人等）と英語でのメールやメッセージをやり取りをされる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

そのような中でワクチン接種が海外で始まっている今日は「ワクチンが効くといいですね」と伝えたい時の英語表現を学習していきたいと思います。

・I hope COVID‑19 vaccines will work well.
・I hope getting COVID-19 vaccines can help protect us from the novel coronavirus.
