最近の話題を英語で言ってみよう ～ 花粉症に関する英語表現

Good morning and I appreciate your visit to English Plus blog.
Today, let's learn some English about the recent news in Japan.
The other morning, when I saw outside from English Plus, I could see quite a lot of people, who were waiting for the traffic light to turn green, wearing masks.
Also, more and more people, who are coming to English Plus, are wearing masks.
Currently in Japan, it's a pollen season and I heard there is a lot of pollen this year.
So, today let's learn English phrases about pollen and so on.
For instance...
・I have a cedar pollen allergy.
・I have a cypress pollen allergy.
・I have hay fever.
・I have a runny nose.
・I have a stuffy nose.　
・I have red eyes.
・I can't stop sneezing.
If you have some symptoms above, try to use some!

先日の朝、English Plusから外を見たところ、信号待ちの多くの人がマスクを着用していました。

また、English Plusに来られる方々も徐々に、マスクをしている方が多くなっている気がします。

日本では今、花粉が多い季節で今年は特に多いと聞きました。

そんな今日は“花粉・花粉症に関する英語”を学んでいきたいと思います。

・I have a cedar pollen allergy. （スギ花粉症です）

・I have a cypress pollen allergy. （ヒノキ花粉症です）

・I have hay fever. （花粉症です）

・I have a runny nose. （鼻水が止まりません）

・I have a stuffy nose. （鼻が詰まっています）

・I have red eyes. （目が充血しています）

・I can't stop sneezing. （くしゃみが止まりません）

花粉症の方は上記の英語を使うことがあるかもしれませんので、覚えておきましょう！

日常生活の中の“きれい～汚い”を表現する時に使える英語

Good morning and I really appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
Today, let's learn some English (adjectives).
When I am on the train, almost every time I do is to check a digital signage.
On a digital signage, we can see a lot of advertisements, news, and some interesting programs.
One of the advertisements I saw recently on it was about tap water.
So, today let's learn about some English (adjectives) to describe how clean or dirty something is.
For instance, "The water around here is..."
・pure
・sparkling clean
・sanitary
・clean
・unclean
・dirty
・polluted
・filthy
You can use these words in different situations, so please learn about them now!

本日は“日常生活の中の“きれい～汚い”を表現する時に使える英語”です。

自分が電車に乗っている時、ほとんど毎回と言ってもいいほど、見てしまう物が電車内のモニターです。

電車内のモニターには色々な内容が映し出されており、広告やニュース、興味深い情報などを目にすることができます。

最近、電車内で見かけた広告の中で水道水についての物がありましたが、今日は水などの“きれい～汚い”を表現する英語（形容詞）を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば…"The water around here is..."（ここ周辺の水は…）

・pure （澄んでいる）

・sparkling clean （とてもきれい）

・sanitary （衛生的）

・clean （きれい）

・unclean （きれいではない）

・dirty （汚い）

・polluted （汚染されている）

・filthy （不潔）

水だけでなく、他の物にも使えますので１文でも英文を作ってみましょう！

基礎英語の復習エクササイズ ～ 英語の過去形（その２）

Today, let's review basic English vocabulary.
At our English Plus' school, we have "Skill-Up" course.
In the Skill-Up lesson, there was a lesson topic about "talking about past events."
When we talk about past events, we need to use "simple past verbs."
So, today let's review simple past verb forms!

Skill-Up（基礎英語）コースのレベルアップテストにスピーキングテスト追加のお知らせ

Good morning and thank you for your time to visit English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to write about Skill-Up lessons' new level check exam.
At our school, there are several English courses available.
One of them is "Skill-Up" course, which is good for those who want to start learning English all over again and those who who want to speak English with confidence!
In this course, students can learn basic grammar and vocabulary for verbal communication.
Each lesson is focusing on 4 skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and it's 90 minutes, so there is a lot of time to learn and use English.
There are currently 7 levels available and after completing 1 level, students need to take a written exam.
However, from this month, we've decided to start an oral exam too!
This is because we want our students to improve four English skills!
Now, there are some seats available in Skill-Up lessons, so if you are interested in them, please check English Plus' website!

おはようございます。English Plus英語講師のarataです。

本日は“Skill-Up（基礎英語）コースのレベルアップテストにスピーキングテスト追加のお知らせ”です。

English Plus英語学校では様々なコースを用意していますが、“英語は苦手…”という方や“英語を基礎からしっかり学びたい”という方には“Skill-Up（基礎英語）”がおすすめです。

このコースでは、コミュニケーションが不自由なくできるように、語彙ならびに文法を学んでいきます。

１レッスンは９０分になっており、レッスンの中では学んだ文法を中心に、４つのスキル（聞く・話す・読む・書く）を使って英語コミュニケーションの基礎力を鍛えていきます。

現在、初級～中上級までの７レベルあり、各レベル修了後には今までのポイントが習得できているかどうか、筆記のレベルチェックテストを受けていただきます。

２月まではこの筆記テストのみでしたが、今月からは４つのスキルをしっかりとチェックするために、スピーキングテスト（口頭試験）も実施することにしました。

各レッスンのポイントを確認・復習をしていれば、レベルアップテストはそれほど問題ないと思いますので、まずはリラックスしてレッスンをご受講していただければと思います。

英語でおしゃべりトレーニングのすすめ

Good morning and thank you very much for your time to visit English Plus blog!
Today, I’d like to recommend English training for English learners.
If you want to improve speaking skills, what you need to do is "practice speaking!"
There are a lot of ways to improve speaking skill, but today I'd like to recommend "chatting training."
Here is how:
1. Go to a cafe or a restaurant with others.
2. Try chatting in English with them for 10 minutes. (The tip is don't worry about making grammatical mistakes. Just keep talking.)
3. Record the chatting and listen to it together in order to check the mistakes.
If there is no place to chat, you can use English Plus Cafe!

英語を話したい！、話す能力を伸ばしたい！と言うことであれば、すべきことは“話す練習”です。

話す能力を伸ばすためのトレーニングの方法はたくさんありますが、今日はその中の１つ“英語でおしゃべりトレーニング”を紹介したいと思います。

トレーニングの仕方はこちら：

１．友達や知人と一緒にカフェやレストランに行く

２．１０分間、英語だけでおしゃべりをする。トピックは日常会話でＯＫ（ポイントは文法的な間違いを気にせず、とにかく英語を話す）

３．おしゃべりを録音しておき、後で間違いのチェックをしながら聞いてみる

レッスンの中で生徒の方々がよく使う英語表現 - ～日連続と言いたい時に使える英語

Today, let's learn some English phrases!
In the lessons at English Plus' school, our students often ask us good English questions.
One of the questions I am frequently asked is when they want to talk about an activity that they do continuously.
In this case, you can use these English phrases:
(for) ... days (hours, weeks, months) in a row
For example, you can say "Last weekend, I studied English for two days in a row!"
or you can say, "I've been reading Shukan ST for 3 years in a row."
If you have a chance to use these English expressions, please try!

本日は“レッスンの中で生徒の方々がよく使う英語表現 - ～日連続と言いたい時に使える英語”です。

英語のレッスン中に時々、生徒の方々から英語の質問をされることがあります。

よく聞かれる質問の１つが“～日間か連続でしている事があるが、どう言えばいいのか？”という質問です。

今日は“～日連続”と言いたい時に使える英語表現を学んでいきたいと思います。

～日連続と言いたいときには…

(for) ... days (hours, weeks, months) in a row

上記の英文を使ってみますと…

"Last weekend, I studied English for two days in a row!" （先週末、２日連続で英語の勉強をした）

～日連続の応用をしますと、こんな文章も可能です。

"I've been reading Shukan ST for 3 years in a row." （３年間かかさず、週刊ＳＴを読んでいる）
