明日（３月２０日）English Plusお休みのお知らせ

Good morning and I appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
Today I'd like to announce English Plus' holiday tomorrow.
Tomorrow is "Vernal Equinox Holiday", which is a national holiday in Japan.
Since tomorrow is a national holiday, we're afraid that English Plus is going to take a day off tomorrow, March 20th.
(It means English Plus (school&cafe) is going to be closed for a day.)
From March 21st, we're going back to the regular schedule!

Today, let's learn some English that might be necessary in business conversation.
When I checked some foreign websites the other day, I could see a topic or read an article about current Japanese economic policies, Abenomics.
Abenomics is, needless to say, the economic policies advocated by Shinzō Abe, the current Prime Minister of Japan.
In the articles, some praised and some criticized Abenomics.
Abenomics is related to economy and today let's learn English about economy.

本日（３月１７日）開催の丸善・ジュンク堂書店でのキッズ英語イベントのお知らせ

Good morning and thank you for visiting English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to announce an English lesson for kids today!
From 11 AM today (March 17th) , we're going to give a 30-minute English lesson for kids.
The place is in Maruzen/Junkudo book store's cafe, which is located on the 7th floor of Tokyu department store in Shibuya.
Any kids from about 5 to 10 are welcome to join!
The participants will be able to enjoy learning English through a variety of fun games!
No reservation is necessary. (However, if there are too many participants, you might not be able to join the lesson...I'm very sorry.)
If you are interested, please join the event today!



Kids lesson at Maruzen/Junkudo Bookstore in Shibuya from 11:00 today!

対象は５～１０歳のお子様ですが、年齢が多少前後しても参加可能です。

レッスンの中では、様々なゲームを通して楽しく英語を学んでいきます！

予約は必要ありませんが、参加者多数など状況によっては参加をお断りすることもございます。予めご了承ください。

In English Plus' conversation lessons, students sometimes talk about food.
There is a lot of food around us such as meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, you name it!
However, some of English words related to food may not be familiar to Japanese people.
So, today let's learn some English vocabulary about vegetables.

・green pepper
・Japanese white radish

TOEICリスニング対策＆基礎リスニング力アップに効果的なTOEIC教材を使ったリスニングトレーニングのすすめ

Today, I'd like to recommend listening training.
The next official TOEIC test is scheduled on April 14th.
If you are planning to take the TOEIC test this year, you can try this listening training!
The training I'd like to recommend today is listening training using TOEIC preparation materials.
What you need is a TOEIC preparation material, a pen, a notebook.
Here is how:
1. Listen to TOEIC questions & answer the questions
2. Check the answer, script and the meaning of unknown vocabulary
3. Listen to the CD and read the script out loud. (Focus on the speed)
4. Shadow the sentences without the script
You can use this training for all the listening parts of the TOEIC test!
This training is good for improving not only TOEIC score but also basic listening skills!
Please try regularly!

今日は“今からできるリスニング対策・基礎リスニング力アップトレーニング”を紹介したいと思います。

必要な物は、TOEIC問題集などCD付きの教材、ペン、ノートです。

トレーニングの手順はこちら：

１．TOEICリスニングの問題を解く

２．答え合わせ、スクリプト、知らない単語の確認

３．もう一度音声を聞きながら、スクリプト読みながら音読（できる限り同じスピードで）

４．スクリプトを見ずに、音声についていくように音読

このリスニングトレーニングは、TOEICスコアアップに効果的なだけではなく、基礎リスニング力アップにもなります！

The other day, there was a conversation topic about eating in and eating out in one of English Plus' Conversation lessons.
Our students talked about a wide variety of topics about eating in and out, such as favorite food, cooking, restaurants and so on.
When we talk about eating in, we need some vocabulary about cooking.
There is a lot of vocabulary about cooking, but today let's learn vocabulary about kitchen utensils.

本日は“意外と知らない日常の身近な英語 - 台所用品に関する英語”です。

先日、English Plusの英語学校の英会話レッスンの１つに、家で食べる食事・外食のトピックがありました。

レッスンの中では、好きな食事、調理に関して、レストランなど様々な食事・外食のことなどについて会話が盛り上がっていました。

家で食べる食事について会話をする時、“調理に関する語彙”は必須ですが、一言に調理と言ってもたくさんの英単語があります。

今日は、その中の１つ“台所用品”に関する英語をクイズ形式で学んでいきたいと思います。

下記の英語を日本語で考えてみましょう！

３月の丸善・ジュンク堂書店でのキッズ英語イベントのお知らせ

Today, I'd like to announce a Sunday English lesson for kids.
This coming Sunday, March 17th, we're going to give a 30-minute English lesson for kids.
It's from 11 AM to 11:30 AM and the place is in Maruzen/Junkudo book store's cafe, which is located on the 7th floor of Tokyu department store in Shibuya.
Any kids from about 5 to 10 are welcome to join!
The participants will be able to enjoy learning English through a variety of fun games!
No reservation is necessary. (However, if there are too many participants, you might not be able to join the lesson. I'm very sorry.)
If you are interested, please join the event this coming Sunday, March 17th!
FYI: The schedule of the next Kids lesson from April in Maruzen/Junkudo book store hasn't been decided yet. When it's decided, I will let you know in this blog.
