REAL STORIES. My gratitude letter.
Dear Ryusuke.
This is a gratitude letter. I want to say thank you for the huge difference you made in my life many years ago.
Back in 1958, I was a student at Barber School.
One day, when I stayed at your house, you said, “Do you want to spend your life as a barber?” “Are you alright with it?”
To tell the truth I didn’t want to become a barber.
My father ran a barbershop.
My father told me, “You will take over the shop.”
I went to barber school unwillingly.
However, your words helped me to come to a decision.
I told my father, “I want to quit barber school.”
My father understood.
I changed to a commercial high school.
I graduated the high school and I entered an electronics company.
I worked there for 20 years.
After that, I ran a Japanese restaurant for 20 years.
Now, I’m free.
I think, if I had run a barbershop I would have experienced another life.
I am satisfied with my life until now.
And I owe this to you.
You were the one who give me advice in this direction.
For that, I want to say thank you.
That's it.
