【モスクワ＝緒方賢一】ロイター通信などによると、ウクライナの首都キエフで２２日、ヤヌコビッチ政権への抗議デモの参加者が大統領府や行政機関を占拠し、市中心部を掌握した。

議会はヤヌコビッチ大統領の解任と大統領選を５月２５日に行うことを決議した。ヤヌコビッチ大統領は一連の動きをクーデターと批判、辞任を否定したが、政権崩壊の様相を呈している。親欧州の西部と親ロシアの東部に国家が分裂する可能性もある。
キエフ中心部では、大統領府や政府ビル、議会、内務省などの主要省庁が次々とデモ隊の支配下に置かれた。キエフ郊外の大統領公邸でも数百人の市民が敷地内に入った。
治安部隊の姿はほとんど見られず、事実上活動を停止している。デモ隊と衝突して新たな死傷者が出たという情報はない。警察当局は「市民の願いを共有する」との声明を出した。
