ＦＭラジオの光州英語放送が開局

韓国南西部を放送エリアとする英語によるＦＭラジオのＧＦＮ光州英語放送が4月1日開局しました。
光州英語放送財団は1日、光州のコンベンションセンターで、放送通信委員会の崔時仲（チェ・シジュン）委員長をはじめ放送関係者など400人あまりが出席して開局式を行い、放送を始めました。
英語によるＦＭラジオの開局は、去年12月に開局した首都圏と今年2月に開局した釜山の英語放送に続いて3番目です。
ＧＦＮ光州英語放送は、光州地域と全羅南道の11の市と郡を放送エリアとして午前5時から次の日の午前2時まで毎日21時間放送し、ホームページで専用のプログラムをダウンロードすると放送をリアルタイムで聴くことができます。
光州英語放送は光州広域市や全羅南道地域に住む外国人に様々な情報を提供し、国際文化都市としての地位を高めようと、光州市をはじめ、地元の大学や銀行などが共同で設立しました。
放送通信委員会は、国内に住む外国人の生活環境を改善するため、外国人が多く住むほかの広域市である大邱や大田、蔚山でも今年10月中の許可を目指して周波数の確保を進めています。

I assume you mean ``Preciosa`` since precocious is precoz in Spanish. Speaking of mistaxe, I reported hearing a non-ID as ``La Grande`` on 1700, from KVNS. Oo, that is the slogan of KBGG 1700 Des Moines, also in Spanish, per NRC AM Log, so I withdraw my previous assumption that KVNS was called that! I am hoping that those people are out because they will be back at work 6 hour or so from now manning a scheduled downtime.
I have nothing conclusive, only some guarded optimism, but I wanted to pass on what I do know. IF they are down, I was told a week or so back that KTCT will go down around 2200-2300 PT or so tonight for 60-90 minutes, then KNBR for the same amount of time. Let's hope.

KNBR 680khz, San Francisco, CA will be off the air on Tuesday night/Wednesday night around 1AM West Coast for about 1.5 hours on November 29th.
It should be noted that this off air period is tentative, and may be rescheduled without notice...but KNBR is almost never off the air opening up some real DX opportunities for those in the West/Southwest.

[PST = 0700-0830 UT, but Nov 29 is a Wednesday, so why is Tuesday referred to as 29th? --- gh]
KNBR 680khz, San Francisco, CA will be off the air on Tuesday night/Wednesday night around 1AM West Coast for about 1.5 hours on November 29th.
[PST = 0900-1030 UT; does this mean two consecutive nights, or did you mean /Wednesday morning, which is the 29th?]
Well, at least we have two weeks to sort this out...

出力切替時刻についてKBJDのChief EngineerのWayane Wick氏にメールしたところ、次のような回答を得ました。FCCのツールでサーチしたところ同局のアンテナ位置での日の出時刻は1345ですから、それ以降なら良し、ということなのでしょうか？
KBJD transfers to one KW from 10 KW every afternoon at 4:45 PM (1645Hrs)MST and returns to full power the following morning at 0745MST local time. We change the transfer on the first of the month and will keep this schedule until 1 March 2007.

当時、QSLに同封されていた写真を掲載したところ、「もっといいのがあるから交換して」とメールで送られてきた同氏の（曰く付き？の）写真はココ。
先日のロシア語番組の送信トラブルの件と現在の出力について、General ManagerのDennis Weidler氏にコンタクトを取ったところ、下記の返信を得ました。

Currently, we are broadcasting at 25,000 watts (half of our licensed power) on a Special Temporary Authority granted by the FCC until we can finish the rebuilding of our directional system. The fire last year will cost $300,000 to repair so I am doing a lot of fundraising.
Also, two of our 259 foot towers were about to fall over. They were built on tundra and the concrete piers they were built on, began tilting! They are laying on the ground until next summer.
