言語を奪う
植民や侵略には言語を奪うという動機が付いて回る。言語は文化を継承する基盤のようなもので、言語は民族の独自性を維持する砦のようなものとも言える。
日本のような単民族国家で問題になる事は無いが、多民族国家でしばしば問題になるのは公用語の取り決めであろう。
ベルギーのように公用語を公平に取り決めている国が少ない一方で、国内の少数民族に自分達の言語を押し付け、少数民族の言語を消滅させようとする国が多数ある。その施策の動機は、文化レベルを上げるためであったり、統治コストや効率の向上のために、公用語を絞らなければならないという事が考えられる。しかしながら、この事は職業選択の自由を奪ったり、社会的不公平の温床となる事も考えられる。
少数民族の人口や構成比率が少ない場合には、多数の民族に吸収される事が考えられるが、人口がかなり多い場合には、反発や独立運動に発展する可能性が大きくなる筈だ。
このように、言語を奪うという行為は、紛争の原因となるので、出来るだけ控えるべきであろう。
ところで、言葉がこのように重大かつ重要なものであるにも関わらず、昨今の日本は如何であろうか？悪戯に欧米に追随し、カタカナ言葉を多用している。
岸田総理自らが、「リスキリング」等と日本の言語インフラを破壊しようとしている。恐らく、無自覚でやっているに違いないが、無自覚程恐ろしいものはない！
