昨年8月に、台北市内の大通り「敦化南路・敦化北路」に、自転車専用レーンができた事は、以前にこのブログでもご紹介しています。 （関連過去記事）

台北では数年前まで、移動手段と言えば、バスかMRTでなければスクーターか車と相場が決まっていて、自転車を日常の足に使っている人を見かける事はほとんどありませんでした。
それが、ここ最近、にわかに「自転車族」が増加。それならば、という事で、冒頭の自転車専用レーンの設置に至ったわけですが、
渋滞の原因になるんじゃないか・・・
バイクや自動車との住み分けはうまく行くのか・・・
路上駐車がなくならなければかえって危険なんじゃないか・・・
いや、そもそも利用者はいるのか・・・
などなど、心配は尽きなかったわけです。
さて、台北市の大胆な試みがその後どうなったかと言うと。。。
台北市政府は先ごろ、「4/12より、自転車専用レーンは週末と休日のみ『専用』とする」事を決定。平日は、これまでどおり車やバイクの通行、停車（場所による）などが可能となりました。
台北市の目抜き通りに初登場した「自転車専用レーン」、わずか半年あまりの短き命でした。
なぜこうなってしまったのか？？
元々車道幅の広い大通りという事もあってか、大きな事故などは特に発生していないようです。ただそれには、専用レーンの利用者が少ない、という事情もあるようで。
全く見かけない訳ではないのですが、通勤時間帯などに自転車族が次々と専用レーンを・・・という景色は今のところ目にしたことがありません。
というよりも、朝夕のラッシュ時には、むしろ専用レーンの存在感は全くなし！
私はバイク族なのですが、正直、混雑時には、縁石の向こう側のガラガラの自転車レーンが恨めしくなります。中には、急ぐあまり専用レーンに入ってしまうバイクも見かけますが、何となく責める気にはなれず（ごめんなさい！）。
実際、市民の評判はさんざんで、市政府が行ったアンケートでは、廃止を求める声の方が多数でした。
専用レーン設置には一億元近い費用がかかっています。しかし、
利用者数の見込みは大きく外れ・・・
縁石や色分けによる規則は分かりにくく・・・
貨物車両やタクシーへの配慮は欠けてており・・・
目抜き通りなのに車線が一つ減った事で渋滞は悪化し・・・
など、多額の税金をつぎ込んだ割には、どうにも粗さが目立ちます。
「台北有数のビジネス街なのに、道路を赤だの緑だのに塗りたくって美観を損ねている！」という意見まで。
台湾の各種メディアは、年末の市長選挙での再選を目指す郝龍斌・台北市長が、市民受けを狙ったものの失敗した、という見方を伝えています。
パワフルすぎる台湾の交通習慣を変え、自転車利用を促進する、という考えには大賛成なのですが、方法が間違っていたのでしょうか・・・（華）

私の住んでいる所にある、公園沿いの歩道の排水溝の蓋が、電柱の立っている所だけ数メートルほど、凹状から平板の蓋に取り替えられました。
理由は、
朝の通勤通学時間に、すれ違う際に子供が車道に出て危ないからだそうです。
住宅街なので、
肩がぶつかるほどの混雑では無いので、なんとか協議会や自治会の要望という名目での、予算使いきり作戦なのでしょう。
