Armor trying on experience 甲冑試着体験（Otaki castle）

Isumi city is a sister city of Duluth city, Minnesota States in America and there are exchange activities between them.
This picture is students of Duluth city who were invited by a school board of Isumi and visited Isumi city during summer vacation to study Japanese culture.

They had experience of trying to wear armors with their host　families at Otaki castles.

Otaki castle museum has event of wearing a life-sized armors for visitors 7times in a year to have interest a period of samurai. You can join that program besides particular date if you make a reservation. This program is especially popular among foreign visitors.

いすみ市はアメリカ合衆国ミネソタ州にあるダルース市と姉妹都市の協定を結び、交流活動を行っています。
写真は、いすみ市教育委員会の依頼により、日本文化に親しんでいただくためこの夏休みにホームステイをされたダルース市の中学生とホストファミリーの方々が大多喜城で甲冑の試着をしているところです。

大多喜城では、武士の生活をしていた時代への興味や感心を持ってもらうために、年７回、体験教室として等身大の甲冑試着を行っています。また、団体の皆様で、ご予約をいただければ、体験教室以外でも甲冑の試着を行うことができます。特に外国のお客様には人気のあるプログラムです。

Honda　Tadakatsu - one of the big four in Tokugawa era -was the first feudal lord of Kazusa Otaki with a hundred thousand koku stipend. He had been into battles 57times in his life and he had never given up even if he suffered a difficult situation. Moreover he had never been injured.

Otaki castle is the inner citadel added to a style of castle walls, Tadakatsu is as the first owner of that castle.This castle is a museum now where we can see a Japanese swords, a suit of armors and so on.

Otaki castle is located in Otaki town in Chiba prefecture.It takes 15minutes from Isumi railway ・Otaki station on foot.

徳川四天王の一人である本多忠勝は、１０万石の上総地方の大多喜を治めた初の城主です。彼は生涯５７回の戦に出ましたが、どんなに苦しい状況でも決して諦めませんでした。そして忠勝一度も傷を負うことはありませんでした。

忠勝は大多喜城の初代城主である。この城は現在では博物館となっており、そこでは日本刀や鎧などを見学することができます。
大多喜城は千葉県大多喜町にあり、いすみ鉄道大多喜駅から徒歩１５分です。
