アラン・パーソンズ・プロジェクト（The Alan Parsons Project）は、イギリス出身のロック・バンドで、アメリカで活躍した。
ビートルズやピンク・フロイドなどの作品を手掛けた「アビイ・ロード・スタジオ」のエンジニアであったアラン・パーソンズと、主にセッション・ピアニストやソングライターとして活動していたエリック・ウルフソンが1975年に二人のプロジェクトを立ち上げ、コンセプトアルバムを製作していった。
プログレッシブ・ロックを彷彿とさせる壮大なスケールのサウンドから出発し、後半はポップで聴きやすい音楽を展開、英米で大きな成功を手に入れた。作曲面ではエリック・ウルフソンが主導した。

日本ではチャート上位に上昇した。米では"Eye in the Sky"（1982年）という曲が3位で現在もyoutube再生回数は多いが、聴いたことがなく、聴いてみたが大した曲ではなかった。曲の構造は同じだが、味付けから見るとDon't Answer Meの方が断然よい名曲。日本人のほうが曲の真価を分かっている。
フィル・スペクターのウォールサウンドがベースになっているという。たしかに、ロネッツの「ビーマイベイビー」風だ。当時はデュラン・デュランなどのニューロマンティックが流行し、マドンナが登場する直前の時代で、この曲調はかなり異質だったが、ゆったりした癒し系の曲調に好感がもてた。
1930年代のフロリダを舞台にしたコミックのＭＶも珍しかった。終盤に描かれたバンドでキーボードを演奏しているのがアラン・パーソンズとエリック・ウルフソン。ボーカルはエリック・ウルフソン。
