The history of the Azteca and the Inca was the one full of bloody history.
アステカの歴史も、インカの歴史も、生贄（いけにえ）のそれでした。人々は、生きた人間の心臓をえぐり、それを神に捧げました。となると、彼らの神は、いったい、だれだったのか。あるいはそこまでマヤ人やインカ人を、追い込めたのはだれかということになります。エイリアン、イコール、性善説は、まちがっているのではないでしょうか。謎が深まります。
During the Pre-Columbian era, human
sacrifice in Maya culture was the ritual
offering of nourishment to the gods.

Blood was viewed as a potent source
of nourishment for the Maya deities,
and the sacrifice of a living creature
was a powerful blood offering.
