We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, let's practice English from English Plus' lessons.
At English Plus, we encourage our students to try to speak English a lot especially during lessons.
Once in a while, they make some mistakes, but they really try hard and try to express what they want to say in their own words. (Great Job!)
Through the lessons at English Plus, I realized there are some mistakes our students often make, so today let's review not to make the same mistake again.
Now, let's find errors from our lessons during the second week of July in 2021 below.

1. I drink tea before go to bed.
2. Does he song?
3. I’m going to visit Fukushima due to learn the disaster.
4. How many alcohol can you drink?

Let's improve English skills little by little!

本日のブログは“自分の英語に自信がない…自分の間違いに自分で気づける基礎英語力をつける第一歩！English Plusレッスン受講生用2020年８月第４週英語レッスンの復習（日本語編）”です。

English Plusではレッスン中は特に、受講生に間違いを恐れることなく英語を話してもらうようにサポートしています。

レッスン内では学んだ語彙・文法を使って、できる限り「自分の言葉で英文を作り、英語でコミュニケーションができる基礎英語力の習得」を目指しています。

９０分間のレッスン内では、基本的に“英語のみ”なので、時に会話のトピック（自分のことや、日常生活、社会一般の事など）が難しい話題になったりもしますが、レッスン受講生は自分の持っている英語力を駆使してがんばっています。

English Plusでは、どのような場面やトピックでも自分の英語力で乗り切れるえるように、基礎の部分となる基礎英語力（自分で英文が自由に作れる英語力）をつけるためにレッスンや自己学習をサポートしていますが、その基礎英語力の大事な中の１つに“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力”があります。

今日はこの“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力”の復習と題し、２０２０年８月第４週のレッスン受講生の英語の間違いから英語の復習・トレーニングをしていきたいと思います。

早速、下記の文の間違いに気づいてみましょう。（答えは下記にありますので、よろしければご確認ください）

We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, let's learn some English vocabulary from English Plus' lessons.
During English Plus' lessons, our students usually have a chance to talk about a wide variety of topics.
In the lesson, they talk about a topic, and one of the topics they talked about recently was about natural disaster.
Japan is an island country and because of its unique geography, it is prone to a variety of natural problems, such as earthquakes and typhoons.
This is a common small talk topic that our students often talk about during lessons.
In order to enjoy having a good conversation naturally and freely, in addition to basic English knowledge of grammar, vocabulary is important.
So, today let's learn some English vocabulary about natural disaster.
Now, let's check the vocabulary below.
・地震 ＝ earthquake
・津波 ＝ tsunami
・地盤沈下 ＝ land subsidence
・液状化現象 ＝ liquefaction phenomenon
・噴火 ＝ eruption
・土石流 ＝ debris flow
To master vocabulary, you should...
・Read out loud
・Write
・Check the spelling carefully
There are some other vocabulary words about natural disaster, so if you are interested, please check out by yourself.
You might use the vocabulary above during conversation sometime in the future, so let's get prepared for such an opportunity from now.

本日は“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力をつけていこう ～ 2016年8月第1週のレッスンの復習（日本語編）”です。

English Plusではレッスン中は特に、受講生に間違いを恐れることなく英語を話してもらうようにサポートしています。

レッスン内では学んだ語彙・文法を使って、できる限り“自分の言葉で英文を作り、英語でコミュニケーションができる基礎英語力の習得”を目指しています。

９０分間のレッスン内では、基本的に“英語のみ”なので、時に会話のトピック（自分のことや、日常生活、社会一般の事など）が難しい話題になったりもしますが、レッスン受講生は自分の持っている英語力を駆使してがんばっています。

Some students said that they have prepared some stuff for evacuation, for instance, water, food, portable radio, flashlight and so on.
Also, they said one of the important items we need to prepare is batteries.
So today let's learn about batteries in English!

About the sizes of batteries...
・D size battery
・C size battery
・AA size battery（＝double A）

You might talk about something related to batteries, so now let's learn and prepare for the future!

本日は“すぐに使える日常の英語 - 電池の種類＆サイズ”です。

英語学校での最近のレッスントピックは“地震などの災害に備えての対策”についてでした。

レッスンに参加していただいた生徒の方の中には、常に自宅に防災用具（例：水や食料、携帯ラジオ、懐中電灯など）を用意している人もいるようです。

携帯ラジオや懐中電灯などに必要なのが電池ですが、今日は電池についての英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば電池は英語で“battery”ですが、いろいろな種類があり例えば…

・Lithium Battery (リチウム電池)

・Manganese Battery (マンガン電池)

・Coin Battery (ボタン電池)

・Rechargeable Battery (充電式電池)

・Alkaline Battery (アルカリ電池)

また電池のサイズは…

Good morning, and thank you for your visiting my blog!
It's been exactly a month since the huge earthquake happened on March 11th.
It's still unknown when we'll fully recover from this disaster since there are still big earthquakes happening in Japan.
However, I'm sure Japan will recover from this terrible catastrophe since a lot of people from all over the world are supporting!!
Today, I'd like to introduce a great quote by Cicero, who was a Roman philosopher and left a lot of great quotes.
Here is one of them,


"While there is life, there is hope."


Let's do what we can do now, and let's make bright future because while there is life, there is hope!!

今日で東日本大震災からちょうど１ヶ月が経ちました。

先日も大きな地震がきたばかりで、いつ復興するのかいまだ不透明な情勢ですが、世界中・日本中問わずたくさんのサポートのお陰で、絶対にこの震災から立ち直る日がくると信じています。

震災から１ヶ月の今日は、地震に負けないポジティブなひとことメッセージとして、ローマの哲学者Ciceroの言葉を紹介したいと思います。

訳は“人が生きている限り、希望はある”といった感じでしょうか。

自分も“節電・募金”など、復興のための協力を続けていきたいと思います。

The time the big earthquake hit, I was teaching English at a cafe in Harajuku, Tokyo.
I was on the first floor and my student and I were able to evacuate safely.
I sincerely pray for those whom the disaster encountered.
Here are some English expressions when you want to ask if your friends are okay.
・Are you okay?
・If you are okay, please let me know.
Please take care from now on too!

昨日の大地震時、自分は東京・原宿で英語のレッスン中でした。
場所は１階でしたので、生徒の方やカフェスタッフの方々と共に無事に避難できました。
