We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, let's practice English from English Plus' lessons.
At English Plus, we encourage our students to try to speak English a lot especially during lessons.
Once in a while, they make some mistakes, but they really try hard and try to express what they want to say in their own words. (Great Job!)
Through the lessons at English Plus, I realized there are some mistakes our students often make, so today let's review not to make the same mistake again.
Now, let's find errors from our lessons during the second week of February in 2023 below.

1. When will you held the performance?
2. How many student will go there?
3. I would rather action movies than comedy ones.

Let's improve English skills little by little!

おはようございます。東京都港区田町の英語学校English Plus英語講師のarataです。

しっかり・楽しく・着実に基礎英語力を身につけるためにEnglish Plusでは「４名までの完全少人数制」「９０分レッスン（キッズ６０分レッスン）」「レッスン内での英語の間違い・質問大歓迎！」「初心者でも安心して受講できる」環境を整えており、また「自己学習サポート」を提供しています。


本日のブログは“自分の英語に自信がない…自分の間違いに自分で気づける基礎英語力をつける第一歩！English Plusレッスン受講生用2022年4月第2週英語レッスンの復習（日本語編）”です。

English Plusではレッスン中は特に、受講生に間違いを恐れることなく英語を話してもらうようにサポートしています。

レッスン内では学んだ語彙・文法を使って、できる限り「自分の言葉で英文を作り、英語でコミュニケーションができる基礎英語力の習得」を目指しています。

９０分間のレッスン内では、基本的に“英語のみ”なので、時に会話のトピック（自分のことや、日常生活、社会一般の事など）が難しい話題になったりもしますが、レッスン受講生は自分の持っている英語力を駆使してがんばっています。

English Plusでは、どのような場面やトピックでも自分の英語力で乗り切れるえるように、基礎の部分となる基礎英語力（自分で英文が自由に作れる英語力）をつけるためにレッスンや自己学習をサポートしていますが、その基礎英語力の大事な中の１つに“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力”があります。

今日はこの“自分の英語の間違いに気づける英語力”の復習と題し、２０２２年４月第２週のレッスン受講生の英語の間違いから英語の復習・トレーニングをしていきたいと思います。

早速、下記の文の間違いに気づいてみましょう。（答えは下記にありますので、よろしければご確認ください）

スムーズかつ自然に正しい英文が口からすぐに出てくる基礎英語力アップのために、学んだ後は音読トレーニング等の復習・トレーニングを重ねましょう。

Today, let's learn some movie-related English vocabulary together.
During the lessons at English Plus, our students talk about a wide variety of conversation topics.
One of the most common topics is about "movies."
Most of our students like to watch movies and they often talk about movie-related topics, such as movie titles, stories, actors, and so on.
In order to help our students talk about movies more fluently and accurately, today I'd like to introduce some genres of movies in English.
For instance...

・アクション = action
・アドベンチャー = adventure
・アニメ = animation / cartoon
・伝記 = biographical movie
・コメディ = comedy
・ドキュメンタリー = documentary

You may have a chance to talk about movies from now on too, so let's try to master each genre.
At English Plus, we provide some English lessons that help you improve basic English skills to make sentences more freely.

Today, I'd like to recommend an interesting movie for this summer holiday.
I guess summer vacation is coming soon!
If you have time this summer, why don't you watch a movie and learn English?
So, today I would like to introduce this movie "Hitch", which is a 2005 American romantic comedy film.
When I first saw this movie in Canada, I remember I enjoyed a lot!
The story is easy to understand but English may be difficult for beginners.

Hitchは２００５年に公開されたアメリカのロマンティック・コメディ映画です。

自分はカナダにいた時に、初めてこの映画を見たのですが“アクションや会話のやりとりが面白かった”という記憶があります。

ストーリーは結構単純なので、簡単に理解できると思いますが、使われている英語は少し難しいかな、と思いますが、リスニングの英語学習と思って楽しく見てほしいと思います。

夏休みにお時間がございましたら、Hitchで楽しく英語学習されてはいかがでしょうか？

Today, I'd like to introduce a good movie for your holiday.
Since I started English Plus, I hadn't had free time until last weekend.
So, I didn't have time to watch a movie.
However, last weekend, finally I was able to make time to watch a movie and the one I chose was this - "17 Again".
17 Again is a 2009 American comedy film.
I personally like comedy films!
Also, I like sitcoms, especially "Friends."
If you have ever seen "Friends" before, which is a popular American sitcom, you must recognize an actor, Matthew Perry.
He is in this movie!
The story itself is interesting and also you can learn some practical English through the movie! (though the speed of the conversation is quite fast.)
If you have time on your holiday, why don't you try "17 Again" to relax and learn English?

本日は“お休みの日に映画で英語学習 ～ 17Again”です。

個人的なことですが、English Plusをオープンして以来、ずっとプライベートの時間があまり取れず映画を見る時間がありませんでした。

が、遂に先週末、ようやく見たい映画を見ることができました！

その時に見たのが今日ご紹介する“17 Again”です。

17 Againは２００９年制作のアメリカのコメディ映画です。

個人的にコメディ映画は好きでよく見ますが、その他にも“Friends”のようなSitcomも好きで見ます。

Friendsを見た人であれば、気づくかもしれませんが、この映画にはChandler役で出ていたMatthew Perryも出演しています！

ストーリーは面白く、飽きることなく見ることができると思います。

また、使われている英語も実用的な物が数多く使われていますので、少しスピードは速いですが英語学習にも良いと思います。

Today, I’d like to recommend a good drama movie to learn English!

The movie I’m going to introduce is entitled “About Schmidt.”
“About Schmidt” is an American dram film in 2002.
In Japanese, it’s known as “
When I first started watching this movie, my first impression was that wow, what a very dark-comedy it is.
However, the story went on, and it turned out that the story of this movie is not only dark , but also interesting.
I mean there is something important we can learn from this movie.
Another good point of this movie is that the main actor’s action, Jack Nicholson as Warren Schmidt, is brilliant.
From English learning point of view, listening is relatively easy, so even beginner English learners can enjoy it with a subtitle!

本日おすすめの映画は“About Schmidt”です。

“About Schmidt”はアメリカの２００２年制作のドラマ映画です。

物語は見てからのお楽しみということで、あまり触れませんが、個人的な印象としましては、この映画の見始めは、つまり最初の印象は“随分とダークな部分を持つ映画だな”という印象を持ちました。

が、しかし物語が進むにつれ、この映画のストーリーはダークな部分だけでなく、しっかりと興味深いヒューマンドラマ作品に仕上がっています。

“興味深い”という点に限ると、この映画から何か大切なことが学べると思います。

他の良い点としましては、主人公Warren Schmidtを演じるJack Nicholsonの演技が、“さすがベテラン”だと言える点です。

映画としてしっかり楽しめる一本ですが、英語学習の観点から見ますと、リスニングも比較的容易で、英語初級者の方も英語音声・日本語字幕で楽しめると思います。

This past weekend, I met some of my friends whom I met in Canada, and in the conversation, there was a topic of movies.
That conversation reminds me of a film "Envy" that I'd like to introduce today.
"Envy" is an American comedy film in 2004.
It stars Ben Stiller and Jack Black, who are two of my favorite actors since they are very funny.
The good points of this movie are...
・The story is easy to understand and English is easy to hear since English spoken in this movie is quite clear.

Today, I’d like to introduce a movie in which one of my favorite actors is in.

The title of the movie is “Shallow Hal”, which is an American romantic comedy film released in 2001.
In Japan, this movie is entitled “Itoshino Rose Mary.”
This movie is very funny because of its story and also acting by Jack Black, who is one of my favorite actors.
Actually, this movie is not only funny, but also good from the English learning point of view.
Why it’s good from the English learning point of view is with this movie, you can learn some expressions related to love.
It’s worth watching, so when you have time, try it!

今日おすすめの映画は“Office Space”（邦題：リストラマン）です。

日本ではまったくと言っていいほど認知されていない映画ですが、Jennifer Aniston（Brad Pittの前妻）も出演している1999年に公開されたアメリカのコメディ映画です。

このOffice Spaceという映画では、ソフトウェア会社に勤める１９９０年代の典型的なアメリカ人の日常生活と、会社に不平不満を持つ社員たちの姿が映し出されています。

舞台がオフィスということもあり、実際に使われているビジネス英語を学ぶのにも、この映画は適していると思います。

Good morning!
Today, I'd like to introduce a wonderful training method using a movie!

The movie I'd like to recommend is "Finding Nemo", which is a 2003 American computer-animated comedy-drama film.
This movie is about clownfish and it tells you an important point as a family.
Anyway, today let's use this movie for English training!
There are only 3 points I'd like to mention.
1. Watch the movie with Japanese subtitle! OR if the movie is easy for you to understand the story, you can watch the movie with English subtitle!
2. If you can catch some expressions in the movie, repeat them!!
3. If you like some expressions, take them in your notebook. After that try to use them!!!

今日おすすめしたい映画は"Finding Nemo - ファインディング・ニモ”（２００３年公開のアメリカのアニメーション映画）です。

この映画は“カクレクマノミ”の親子の物語で、いろいろと家族に関して学べると思います。

この洋画“Finding Nemo”を使った英語トレーニング方法はこちら・・・

１．日本語の字幕付きで見てみる。（英語が聞き取れて、内容が理解できる場合は英語の字幕にしてみる。）

２．聞き取れた表現があればその都度、口に出してみる。（リピーティング）

３．お気に入りの表現があれば、ノートに書き出し、その後使ってみる。
