Good morning and thank you very much for visiting English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to introduce one of English Plus' school activities in 2020.
At English Plus, we hold several activities, and in 2020, we're going to start a new activity "Self-Study Club."
This "Self-Study Club" is intended for our students who want to learn how to do self-study more effectively.
In the club, we're going to focus on how to review lessons, how to increase vocabulary, how to do self-training, and so on.
The first club meeting is supposed to be on February 1st.
It's from 15:00 to 15:45.
This time, we'll do how to review vocabulary from the lesson.
To join English Plus activity, our students need to sign up at the counter.
All of our students are welcome to join any activity.
Let's enjoy learning English more!

English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Tomorrow is the New Year's eve, and I'd like to look back on this year as an English instructor at English Plus.
A lot of things have happened here at English Plus in 2019.
Some of the events at English Plus this year are, such as...
・Our students can get 5 percent rebates from a credit card company if they pay a monthly fee by a credit card.
・Rainbow Bus announcement is still continuing and you can hear our advertisement.
・There are more school choices in Canada for those who want to learn English.
・Darts activity was held for the first time in 3 years.
・"Karaoke Saturday" activity was held for the first time in 2 years.
・In our Christmas party, it was our first time to try "Red vs White" battle.
・We uploaded a new movie on YouTube.
・We made and started giving new self-study sheets for our students to review the lessons.
・English lessons for legal entity (corporation) started.
・"Basic English Skills for Junior High School students" program is almost ready and going to start in March.
・"Business English" course is now being fully changed and more practical for students.
・A lot more students got better TOEIC score.
・Some kids students said that they can understand their English lessons at school more easily
From my point of view as an English instructor, most of our students' English skills have improved continuously this year too! (Great work!)
We really thank every one of English Plus' students, supporters, staff members, friends, and family .
This year has become another wonderful one.
We'll keep making efforts to provide better English lessons, support, and service at English Plus next year too.

Merry Christmas eve!
Thank you very much for your time to stop by English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' last school activity in 2019.
Last Saturday, we held an annual English Plus' Christmas party, which was our last activity this year.
This Christmas party has become our regular annual event, and we were able to finish it without any problems this year too.
Since we have both adults and kids students at English Plus, we enjoyed the party together.
During the party, we enjoyed a lot of food, and drink.
The theme of this year's Christmas party was "Pre-Olympics" since next year is going to be Tokyo Olympics year, so played some games, such as ball game, quoits, and so on.
Through the games, everyone seemed to enjoy playing the game, and almost all of the participants seemed to well communicate. (Great job!)
In the middle of the party, a special guest "Santa Claus" came to English Plus, which made the party more fun.
We really appreciate every one of the participants who joined the party, especially who helped us a lot. (Thanks a lot!)
We're thinking about holding some other activities next year too, so if you are English Plus' students, please join us next year too.
Let's learn and use English a lot, and improve a lot next year too!

Today, I'd like to introduce English Plus' last school activity in 2019.
In December, there are some events, and one of which is "Christmas" and this month we're going to hold a Christmas party at English Plus.
Every year, we try something new at our annual Christmas party, and this year we're thinking about something new and fun too.
We're preparing for the party right now, and the theme of this year's party is "Pre-Olympics."
Through this party, we hope the participants enjoy eating, drinking, and communicating in English!
Currently, our students are both kids and adults, so we're planning a party which both kids and adults can enjoy together.
Hopefully, this time a lot of students will participate and enjoy the party.

おはようございます。東京都港区田町の英語学校English Plus英語講師のarataです。

English Plusでは、小学生から大人まで『使える基礎英語力』をしっかり・楽しく・着実に身につける「実用的な英語レッスン」を提供しています。

しっかり・楽しく・着実に基礎英語力を身につけるためにEnglish Plusでは「４名までの完全少人数制」「９０分レッスン（キッズ６０分レッスン）」「レッスン内での英語の間違い・質問大歓迎！」「初心者でも安心して受講できる」環境を整えており、また「自己学習サポート」を提供しています。


本日のブログは“English Plus（英語学校）２０１９年９月のアクティビティ ～ Darts Saturdayを開催しました（日本語編）”です。

English Plusのアクティビティは、レッスン外でもレッスン受講生に「もっと英語でコミュニケーションを図ってほしい」という思いから始めました。

特に今回のダーツアクティビティは「いつものクラスメイトと違う人ともっとコミュニケーションを楽しもう！」という目的で開催しました。

今回のダーツアクティビティも前回、前々回同様に"Darts, Drink, Eat & Communicate"と題し、「原宿にあるダーツバー"Figaro Harajuku H-14"さん」にお邪魔し、アクティビティを開催しました。

今回は、数チームでダーツ対決をしつつ、飲み、食べ、コミュニケーションを楽しむという趣旨でしたが、Figaroさんのスタッフの協力もあり、参加者皆で楽しく「ダーツを通してコミュニケーションを楽しくすること」ができました。

また、ダーツのレクチャーもあり、参加者皆、楽しくコミュニケーションを図りながらダーツに打ち込んでいました。

今回のアクティビティを通して、レッスンの中では普段見られないレッスン受講生の方々の良い一面を見ることもできました。

今後も「英語力アップやコミュニケーション力アップのため」の様々なアクティビティを開催していきたいと思いますので、レッスン受講生は興味のあるアクティビティに是非ご参加ください。

また、レッスン受講生からのアクティビティのリクエストもお待ちしております。

English Plusはキッズから大人まで楽しく、着実に基礎英語力を鍛えていくことを目的とした英語学校です。

Today, I'd like to report English Plus' most recent school activity in September 2019.
Last Saturday, September 7th, we held English Plus' school activity "Darts Saturday."
"Darts Saturday" is mainly for our students to have more opportunities to communicate in English outside the classroom.
In this activity, the participants have a lot of time to enjoy communicating in English through playing darts.
This time, we went to a darts bar "Figaro Harajuku H-14".
During the activity, we were able to enjoy playing darts, drinking, eating, and communicating in English thanks to all the participants and the staff at Figaro Harajuku H-14.
Also, through the activity, we were able to see some students' good parts.
After the activity, we were able to hear some positive comments about this activity, and we were sure that it has become another successful activity.
We're going to hold more fun activities in the near future, and if you are our students and interested in some activities, please join us next time.

Today, I'd like to introduce one of English Plus' school activities in September 2019.
Our school occasionally holds some school activities, and all of our students are welcome to join some of our activities!
Today, I'd like to introduce one of English Plus' activities "Darts Saturday."
The main purpose of this "Darts Saturday" is for our students to have more opportunities to communicate in English outside the classroom.
It means we would like them to speak English a lot and have fun communicating in English through some activities.
We sometimes hold this event inside and outside English Plus.
This time, we're planning to "Darts Saturday" outside English Plus.
In the activity, we're going to "play darts, drink, eat and communicate in English."
We're planning to hold it on Saturday, September 7th.
If you are a student at English Plus, and a student's family, friends, you are always welcome to join!
To participate in this activity, you need to sign up at the counter.
Let's enjoy communicating in English!

Today, I'd like to report English Plus' recent school activity last weekend.
There are several reasons we started activities for our students at English Plus, and one of them is that we would like our students to enjoy communicating in English outside classroom too.
We occasionally hold some activities, and the last activity we held was "Karaoke Night."
The main purpose of this activity is to enjoy English communication.
At the same time, we want them to practice English by singing English songs.
It was our first activity this year, and it became a successful activity.
It became about a total of 4-hour activity, but all the participants seemed to have a good time.
We're going to continue holding some other activities this year too.

Today, let's learn some English vocabulary from English Plus' lessons.
During English Plus' lessons, our students have a chance to talk about a wide variety of topics.
In the lesson, they talk about a topic, and the topics change frequently and naturally.
For instance, when they talk about cooking, the topic of cooking changes to ingredients, a recipe, a favorite grocery store, some items they saw in a supermarket, and so on.
To continue conversation naturally and freely, in addition to basic English knowledge of grammar, it's necessary to know about vocabulary.
Knowledge of vocabulary often helps us to communicate.
During one of our recent English lessons, our students talked about "alcohol" since we had some opportunities to drink alcohol in our Karaoke activity.
Actually, alcohol has a lot of kinds, and today let's learn some of them.
Now, let's check the vocabulary below.
1. バーボン ＝ bourbon
2. ブランデー ＝ brandy
3. コニャック ＝ cognac
4. スコッチ ＝ Scotch whiskey
5. ウォッカ ＝ vodka
To master vocabulary, you can either of the techniques below.
・Read out loud
・Write
・Check the spelling carefully
If you want to know more about alcohol, you should google and find the information in English.
In this case, you can learn about alcohol and read English.
You might use the vocabulary above during conversation sometime in the future, so let's get prepared for such an opportunity from now.

Today I'd like to introduce one of English Plus' school activities in May 2019.
At English Plus, we sometimes hold school activities, and this month, we've decided to hold "Karaoke" activity.
It's going to be our first Karaoke activity this year.
We've held Karaoke activity some times, and on the whole, each time was quite successful.
Since the Karaoke activity is usually popular and the participants can enjoy singing, we've decided to hold it this month.
The main purpose of this activity is for students to enjoy communicating in English through karaoke and drinking.
Also, this activity is good to know other students who are usually taking different lessons at English Plus.
We're planning to hold this activity on May 25th, and for more detailed information, please ask us directly.
All of our students are welcome to join English Plus activities.
Let's enjoy communicating in English inside and outside English Plus!
