本日のブログは“新型コロナウイルスに関する英語表現「コロナの後遺症が未知なので心配です」と言いたい時の類似表現（日本語編）”です。

今年３月頃から、メディア（テレビやラジオ、インターネットのニュース等）で頻繁に取り上げられているように、ニュースの中心はコロナウイルスですが、国によっては状況が悪化している所もあります。

現在、世界中で問題になっているコロナウイルスですが、日本でも完全な収束が見えない状況です。

このコロナウイルスの怖いところは多々ありますが、その内の１つに「後遺症が未知な点」が挙げられると思います。

今日は「コロナの後遺症が未知なので、心配です」と伝えたい時の英語表現を学習していきたいと思います。

・The aftereffects of the Coronavirus is still unknown, so I'm worried. (コロナの後遺症が未知なので心配です)

・Even if one recovers from the COVID-19, it seems that there will be after-effects so I'm worried. (コロナが治っても後遺症が残るようなので心配です)

Today, let's learn some English expressions from recent news topics of Coronavirus.
From this past March, we often hear or see a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on TV, the radio, and websites.
They say more and more people are still infected with the Coronavirus all around the world.
In some countries, the situation of COVID-19 is getting worse day by day.
About in Japan, the situation of COVID-19 seems stable in a good way and bad way.
One of the scariest things about this disease is there is still not known about aftereffects.
Today, let's learn some English expressions about the aftereffects of COVID-19, for instance:

・The aftereffects of the COVID-19 is unknown, so I'm worried. (コロナの後遺症が未知なので心配です)
・Even if the Coronavirus is once cured, it seems that after-effects remain so I'm worried. (コロナが治っても後遺症が残るようなので心配です)

Good morning and I really appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
English Plus is a small English school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' promotional movie about COVID-19.
Since coronavirus (COVID-19) became a major problem all over the world this year, everyone of us has realized how important washing hands is.
Actually, through the radio, internet, we can see a lot of information about COVID-19 and how to protect ourselves from the virus.
At English Plus, we ask all the visitors including our staff and students to wash hands soon after they visit us at English Plus.
Also, we ask them to wear masks inside our facility and use hand sanitizer before getting drink at English Plus.
To make hand washing more effectively, one of our staff members, who has Public Health Nurse, Registered Nurse, and Midwife license, gave us some tips about how to protect ourselves from any infectious disease and we've made four promotional movies about COVID-19 so far.
We've uploaded all of them on YouTube, and one of them, which is our latest one, got a link from Cabinet Secretariat about COVID-19's latest information.

本日のブログは“「東京ではコロナの状況がやや落ち着いてきましたが、まだ心配です」と言いたい時のビジネスでも使える英語表現（日本語編）”です。

今年に入って、世界中のメディア（テレビやラジオ、インターネットのニュース等）で取り上げられているように、ニュースの中心はコロナウイルスですが、国によってはまだ患者数が増えている等、今日の段階では収束が見えない状況です。

このような状況でも、海外の方（ビジネス上でお付き合いのある方、お客様、同僚、友人等）と英語でのメールやメッセージをやり取りをされる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

今日はこのような状況でも使える「東京ではコロナの状況がやや落ち着いてきましたが、まだ心配です」と伝えたい時の英語表現を学習していきたいと思います。

例えば・・・

・The COVID-19 situation in Tokyo seems to settle down a little these days but I am still worried about it.

・The current Coronavirus situation in Tokyo seems to be stabilizing but I am still anxious about this situation.

Today, let's learn some English expressions which can be used in current business situations.
Since this past March, we have heard or seen a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on TV, the radio, and websites.
In every day's news, they say more and more people are still infected with the Coronavirus all around the world.
This is surely bad news for people all over the world, and I hope the spread of Coronavirus infections will settle down soon and things will get back to normal.
Under this circumstance, you might sometimes need to work and send a message to your foreign business clients, partners, colleagues, or friends overseas.
In this situation, in a message, you can tell them your city's current situation (e.g. Tokyo).
So, today, let's learn some useful expressions in English.
For instance:

・It seems that the situation with the Coronavirus in Tokyo is has settled down a little bit but I am still concerned about it..
・The number of patients with COVID-19 in Tokyo has been not so many recently but I am still worried about this situation.

If you feel these expressions are helpful, please use one of them above when necessary.

Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' latest activity about infection prevention.
As of today, we can see and hear a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Actually, on March 11th 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic, and Japanese government declared the state of emergency about COVID-19 on April 8th 2020.
Though the state of emergency was lifted on May 25th, the number of infected patients has been increasing again since then.
In an effort to prevent and minimize the spread of any infectious disease including COVID-19, English Plus has made "infection prevention policy."
For instance,
1. The staff wash hands regularly
2. The staff try to stay healthy, but when their condition is not good, they stay at home
3. The staff wear face masks as a precautionary measure when necessary
4. The staff and students use hand sanitizer when necessary, especially before getting any beverages
5. Disinfectants are regularly used during cleaning, especially in locations frequented by large numbers of people, such as desks, chairs, and so on.
6. The staff ventilates the facility regularly
7. During the lessons, we try to keep distance
and so on.
In addition to prevent the spread of infectious disease, we have got "Tokyo's Kansen-Boshi Tettei Sengen Sticker" (A sticker by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to prove that the shop prevents the spread of infection.)
In order to prevent the spread any infectious disease to protect our students and staff, we'll do what we should do to make a safe environment to study English from now on too.

I guess some of you have several opportunities to participate in meetings at work.
Since Coronavirus (COVID-19) is around us these days, I imagine you have a lot more chance to join online meetings.
What vocabulary and expressions you use in your meetings depends on your job, and industry; however, during a meeting, there are some items to talk about.
In this case, we need to care about time and status of the progress of a meeting.
So, today, let's learn some English expressions that can be used when we go to the next topic during a meeting.
For example...

・Ok, now, let's move on to the next item on the agenda.
・Shall we proceed to the next item on the agenda?
・Well, we’re running out of time, so let’s move on to the next topic.

おはようございます。東京都港区田町の英語学校English Plus英語講師のarataです。

本日のブログは“新型コロナウィルスに関する英語表現「東京では２０代３０代のコロナの患者が増えてきています」と言いたい時の英語表現（日本語編）”です。

今年３月頃から、メディア（テレビやラジオ、インターネットのニュース等）で頻繁に取り上げられているように、ニュースの中心はコロナウィルスですが、国によっては第二波の影響が見られる等、今日の段階では世界全体の状況が悪化しています。

現在、世界中で問題になっているコロナウィルスですが、日本、特に東京においては最近、またコロナウィルスが蔓延してきており収束が見えない状況です。

このような状況でも、海外の方（ビジネス上でお付き合いのある方、お客様、同僚、友人等）と英語でのメールやメッセージをやり取りをされる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。

この状況で「東京では２０代３０代のコロナの患者が増えてきています」と伝えたい時もあるかと思いますので、今日はこの英語表現を学習していきたいと思います。

・In Tokyo, the number of patients infected with COVID-19 is increasing, especially in their 20's and 30's.

・I heard most patients with Coronavirus are in their 20's and 30's in Tokyo these days.
