会社に関連する英語を学ぼう

Good morning and thank you for your visit to English Plus blog.
Today, let’s learn some English that I have got frequently asked.
Since English Plus is located in Shibaura, Tamachi, some of our students are office workers.
They sometimes ask me questions about vocabulary such as "How do you say Kogaisha in English?"
So today I'd like to share what some companies are called in English.
For instance...
・company (= firm, corporation, enterprise)
・headquarters
・branch office
・subsidiary
・affiliate
・overseas branch
・foreign company
・competitor
You might need to talk about one of them above in the future, so let's practice & master now!

おはようございます。English Plus英語講師のarataです。

本日は“会社に関連する英語を学ぼう”です。

English Plusは田町・芝浦に位置していることもあり、英語学校の生徒の中には会社員の方もいらっしゃいます。

会社員の生徒の方々に度々聞かれる質問の１つに“子会社や系列会社は英語で何て言うの？”というものがあります。

今日は会社に関連した英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば…

・company (= firm, corporation, enterprise)（会社・企業）

・headquarters（本社）

・branch office（支社）

・subsidiary（子会社）

・affiliate（系列会社）

・overseas branch（海外支社）

・foreign company（外資系企業）

・competitor（ライバル会社）

例えば“My co-worker was transferred to a subsidiary.”（同僚が子会社に出向になった）のように使うことが可能ですので、今のうちに覚えておきましょう！
