「BBCのベン・ライト政治担当編集委員によると、「ブレグジットと反ユダヤ主義批判に対する党指導部の対応に幻滅した一部の労働党議員」が離党する見通しだという」
「労働党のジェレミー・コービン党首を公然と批判し続けてきたスティーヴン・キノック議員はBBCラジオに対して、一部議員は離党するだろうと述べながら、党指導部に不満を抱く議員たちに「勝ちたいなら、残って戦え」と呼びかけた」

「イギリスの最大野党・労働党から18日、欧州連合（EU）離脱や反ユダヤ主義などについて党指導部の姿勢を批判する下院議員が7人、離党を表明した」
「「政治はもう壊れている。こんな状態でなくてもいいはずだ。政治を変えよう」とウムナ議員は強調した。野党・自由民主党に合流するつもりはなく、保守党と労働党の二大政党以外の「別の選択肢を新しく作る」ことが独立グループの目的だと説明した」

BBC Several Labour MPs about to resign, say party sources 18 Feb 2019

「They are announcing the formation of a new group in Parliament - the Independent Group.」とあり、独立グループと言うのは、ほかから独立した新グループと言う意味ではなく「独立集団」という固有名のつもりらしい。つまり結集するための理念的な合意が出来なかったわけですね（辛辣）。

「The seven MPs, who all back a further EU referendum, are not launching a new political party - they will sit in Parliament as the Independent Group.」

　結集する理念はともかく、離脱すべき理由が幾つかあって、そのための行動である―といったところか（点数ツケが厳しい）。しかしなんかこの7人でも微妙に見解が違うようで

　せやったら結集軸をしめさんと。

BBC Honda set to close Swindon car plant 18 Feb 2019

「Honda is set to announce the closure of its Swindon car plant in 2022, with the loss of about 3,500 jobs.

The Japanese company made 160,000 Honda Civics in Swindon last year, of which some 90% were exported to the EU.」

「But he pointed out that car demand had fallen since new diesel emissions rules were introduced across Europe. "That big drop in demand by consumers is bound to have a knock on effect with producers," he said.」
