　カチン州で、泥流に居住区が埋められて54名以上死亡とみられる。

「At least 54 jade miners are feared to have died after they were buried in mud while sleeping in northern Myanmar.

Police said the landslide in Kachin state was so great it created a "mud lake" that engulfed the workers' living quarters along with some 40 vehicles.」

　3名は回収できたものの、ほかの遺体の回収は絶望的。

「Many of those killed were people who made their living scavenging on or near the waste dumps, searching through the debris in the hope of finding fragments of jade to sell.」

　100～200人の犠牲者は、このように、（軍とリンクした）大企業が採鉱したあとの残渣から金目の石を見つけようとしていた零細地元民。それがこんなふうに、うっかりすると（しなくても）土砂崩れで大規模に死ぬ。
　…まあ、うん…。
