城田じゅんじの声が魅力的なこの曲。
ライトフット自身の歌い方も淡々と歌っている。
がいちばん最初に聞いたのはＰＰＭだった。
そのイメージがあって・・・。
ただ、Elvis Presleyも歌っているのだけれども、これもまた淡々と、しかしやはりエルビス節。

フォるクローレとして馴染みのある「花祭り」
様々な人の歌と演奏を聴くことができるようです。
フォルクローレと言えば「コンドルは飛んでいく」が有名ですが、あれはサイモンとガーファンクルが歌詞を載せたもの。
原詞の意味とは違う気がするのだけれども、そちらの方が有名になったので。
花祭りにはスペイン語で歌詞が付いていますので・・・。
基本的にはローマ字読みで結構ですので、ぜひ原語で。

１９７９年１１月４日の午後。
例の「江夏の２１球」として語り継がれる日本シリーズ。
なぜか街角の電気屋の前で見ていた。
別にファンではなかったのだが。当時関西にいた関係でどうしてもどちらかといえば「近鉄」を応援していた。
後に近鉄沿線に住むことになって周りは近鉄ファンが多くなった。
その時に「このときの日本シリーズを見ていたと。」いえば酒の席では盛り上がった。
ただ、近鉄というより「西本監督」のファンだった。
西本さんが監督を辞めた後、日本一になれなかったことから「悲運の名将」と言われたことに対して「これだけ日本シリーズに出られたことは決して悲運ではない」というように話していた。
私はむしろこれだけの人を、東京のメディアがあまりにも軽く扱いすぎたのではないか。
もしこれが某Ｇ球団の関係者であったならばこれほど軽く扱わなかっただろう。
そういう意味ではメディアが悲運にさせた被害者の様な気がする。
その近鉄球団も、舞台となった大阪球場も今は無い。

いくつかの曲を拾ってはいません。
元歌が判らなかったものや、やはり日本の曲に関しては特に著作権の関係で記載しなかったものもありますし、日本の歌に関してはナターシャのモノが元歌だったりするわけで・・・。

There was a jolly millerは最初ジョリーミラーと言う人の名前かと思ったら「陽気な粉屋さん」という普通名詞。
Dee riverはスコットランドとウエールズ境界の川。
河口はトリガイに似たザルガイ漁が盛ん、らしい。
♪朝から晩まで歌を歌いながら働いている
という歌。
Dance to your daddyは「お父さんに踊って見せる」歌。
最初タイトルだけ見たら一緒に踊りましょうというものかと思ったらそうでもない。
本来は「子守唄」なのかなあ。

Old King Coleはローマ進攻以前にいたイギリスの古い王様だという。
そういう人が子供歌として伝えられているのはかなり親しまれていたからだろう。
とはいえ「King Cole」といえば「Nat」が付く方が私には耳慣れているのだけれど
「高石ともや」で著名な曲の一つに岡林信康の「友よ」があります。
最近、個人的に既存の曲を方言変換して遊ぶことをやっています。
本来は文字数を合わせて歌えるようにするのですが、さらに方言変換ソフトを利用しただけなので未完成のモノを。
題して「お連れはん」
