I want to be near you, got to be with somebody, I can't be alone! Because--as you must have noticed--I'm--not very well...[Her voice drops and her look is frightened.]
戯曲なので当然会話の部分が文章の大半を占めていて、難しい単語は余りでてきませんが、連語とか句動詞とか頻繁で使われていて、普段英語で話すことがほとんどないので、私にはやはり難しい表現です。
上の個所の "put up at" は文脈からすると泊まることだと推測できますが、耳で聞いても直ぐには分かりません。辞書で意味を確認します。

・Oxford English Dictionary: Stay temporarily in accommodation other than one's own home.: We put up at a hotel in the city centre.

・Collins Dictionary: If a person or hotel puts you up or if you put up somewhere, you stay there for one or more nights.: I wanted to know if she could put me up for a few days.; Hundreds of junior civil servants have to be put up in hotel rooms and temporary hostels.

・Cambridge English Dictionary: to stay somewhere for the night: We put up at a small hotel for the night.

戯曲は誰が話しているのかはっきりしているので読み易いですね。

"true to my sucker form" の個所が分かりません。辞書で調べると、"true to form" という慣用句があり、辞書には次の説明がありました。
・Oxford English Dictionary: Being or behaving as expected.: Ultimately, and true to form, the woman is portrayed as the weaker sex
・McGraw-Hill Dictionary of American Idioms and Phrasal Verbs: exactly as expected; following the usual pattern. (Often with running, as in the example.): As usual, John is late. At least he's running true to form.
では "my sucker" は何でしょう？　辞書を見ると "sucker" にも色々な意味がありますが、ここでは次の意味だと思います。

・Oxford English Dictionary: (a sucker for) A person especially susceptible to or fond of (a specified thing): I always was a sucker for a good fairy tale.

・Collins Dictionary: If you describe someone as a sucker for something, you mean that they find it very difficult to resist it.: I'm such a sucker for romance.

後者の辞書にはイメージが載っていたので "bok choy" はチンゲン菜だと分かります。

opportunism

安部公房の小説 "The Face of Another" を読んでいます。
It seems to be proverbial that the story of the ugly duckling ends with the swan's song. This is typical opportunism. How would you feel if you were the swan? No matter what song others sang for the girl, she did die, she was unmistakably defeated. I don't want to be like the swan.I don't want that. If I die, there is no one to think of me as a swan, and furthermore I have a chance of winning. Well, when I first saw the movie I turned my face away in anger, but it is different now. I cannot escape a new sense of envy for the girl.
