flick on the raw

昨日はいつもは電車で行く墓参りに自動車で行く予定だったのですが、家族の調子が悪いので予定を変えて、午前中は畑作業、主に春菊の間引きをしましたが結構時間がかかりしゃがんで作業をするので疲れました。　午後は地元の江戸川ウインドオーケストラの定期演奏会を聴きに行きました。　素人ながら（なので）年々上手になって来た気がします。　生まれ変わったらやって見たい事が幾つもありますが楽器の演奏もその一つです。　演奏会に行く度にそんな気がします。　演奏会から帰ったら再来週の１０kmレースに備えてジョッギングをしましたが、レース前のジョッギングはこれでたったの２度目、レース前のあと一回練習できるかどうかと言うところです。　夜はいつものように卓球の練習をしました。　今月は卓球の試合が２度あります。
さて、赤毛のアンです。　Mr. Phillips先生がいない間にはしゃいでいたのはアンだけではないのですが、アンはスケープゴートに選ばれました。
"Did you hear what I said, Anne?" queried Mr. Phillips sternly.
"Yes, sir," said Anne slowly, "but I didn't suppose you really meant it."
"I assure you I did," -- still the sarcastic inflection which all the children, and Anne especially, hated. It flicked on the raw. "Obey me at once."
まだ私は身に付いていませんが卓球のテクニックにフリックと言うのがあります。　そんな事を連想する様では上の会話の "flicked on the raw" の個所の意味は分かりません。　辞書を引きます。
"flicked on the raw" で慣用句の様な気がしますが、慣用句をオンライン辞書で探すのは結構難しく、慣用句としての　"flicked on the raw" 例は見つけられませんでした。 そこで "flick" の意味を辞書で調べると、
OneLook Quick Definitions: touch or hit with a light, quick blow ("Flicked him with his hand")
Dictionary.com: to strike lightly with a whip, the finger, etc.
と言う意味があります。　すると "raw" に "unnaturally or painfully exposed, as flesh, by removal of the skin or natural integument"; "painfully open, as a sore or wound" の意味があるので、この引用文での "flicked on the raw" は、「痛い所を突く」とか「傷口を叩く」ような感じですが、Mr. Phillipsの言葉での攻撃なので「心の傷口をグサリと刺す」としたら大げさでしょうか？
久しぶりに電子辞書も見てみても "flick on the raw" はありませんでしたが、"catch/touch someone on the raw" と言う慣用句があるのが分かりました。

"flick on the raw" と同じですね。
