「派手な」とか「けばけばしい」様子を表す言葉として "gaudy" とか"showy"、"flashy" を知っていましたが、他にも似たような意味をもっている言葉 "meretricious", "tawdry" などがあり、それらのニュアンスを説明した文にあいました。

いずれにせよ余りほめている感じはしませんが、良い意味でいう場合は "colorful", "conspicuous", "prominent" などが使われるのでしょうか？
